Fighter strikes were already detected, destroying the system's early warning networks.
Home.
The Overadmiral's speech was interrupted when the Admiral of the 2nd fleet reported kinetic plumes detection by the early warning networks of the Pervatia system.
Verolix did the Sixtra equivalent of sighing in relief, before giving new orders. Leaving Grabia unprotected had been a very risky move, one that could have easily backfired against him had his guess of the Ouster targets been proven wrong. But he had been right. The attacks at Bohica and Talathrant had resulted in the loss of almost a third of the Confederation's shipbuilding capabilities. Even if the motherships could be used as emergency shipyards, that was only a minor patch. The Hajr seeked to destroy their shipyards before using their superior numbers to win the war. But they had not yet suceeded.
"Fleet Admiral Siratrex, do your best. Help is on its way and it will reach Pervatia within minutes."
Verolix considered the fleet situation briefly. The 2nd fleet and the 1st squadron were at Pervatia, about to engage a
third Ouster fleet. The 4th fleet was the closest to Pervatia and, luckily, it was ready for battle as it had left Bohica without actually engaging the Ousters. Prextazsa was only protected by the 3rd fleet for the moment, but that was about to change. The 2nd squadron from Fertiakas and what was left of the 5th fleet on their way to Prextazsa ensured that the industrial heart of the Confederation would soon be safe. The Ouster War Clusters at Bohica and Talathrant would lose precious hours with their systematic destruction of the sensor networks of both systems and they didn't have a hope of reaching any of the core worlds before the Confederate fleets. Far from perfect, but not everything was lost... yet.
Australis.
"How can even a voidworm miss the fact that Sixtrasis has been completely evacuated?" asked the Commander of Australis third battle station to his second in command when the Ousters started to send demands to a planet where there was no one to hear them.
"I don't know, sir. But the fleet is already in position and all the planetary defenses are in nominal condition."
"Have they deployed the interdictors?"
"Of course, sir. After Talathrant we are not allowing them to jump on our throats again. The interdictors are set for wide net interdiction and the Ousters will be unable to jump within beam range of the fleet from any direction."
The Commander nodded in agreement, seeing the interdictors among the fleet vessels. They were ugly small ships, sluggish in their movements, although protected with good shielding and decent point defense weaponry resulting from the modification with military grade equipment of freighters.
OOC: Given the way you described the events, I supposed that the 2nd WC at Bohica was that fleet, but don't worry. The fleets started to move the moment Fervestria picked you.
