It's Time for Another Spore Thread. Again.

EA have really cocked up the release.

Eh? How so? After that bit where the fan site-o-sphere threw a little hissy fit because some people were downloading the free demo from sites other than the EAxis Spore page, which then got taken down for a few hours because they realized that their own servers wouldn't be up to snuff for the release as they were, things seem to have gone off without a hitch. Hell I was able to download the trial demo from the EAxis page, in like, less than 15 minutes (it's about 250 megs)! That's the fastest I've ever been able to download something that size for quite some time.loomer wrote:EA have really cocked up the release.

Uh. You are aware that they bounced the (official) release from the 16th to the 17th, then to the 22nd, then back to the 17th, that the full version downloads don't work right and require the EA download manager to even run (they don't, but that's EA's official stance regardless), and that Direct2Drive started offering downloads of the full thing a day earlier than the official website?
EDIT: Oh, and throw in a shit load of website issues to go with it.

Can't damn download in aus at the moment. I'm guessing that's why Stark needed a proxy.

Yeah? Which one did you go for?
EDIT: Would any European be so kind as to buy the game for me? I'll pay back the cost and an extra euro for inconvenience.

Several people have already made a Goatse creature. It was inevitable, really. In fact, an early preview from Cracked.com predicted kids playing the game and coming on a planet populated by dicks.

Oh yeah, I actually recognize all of those parts. It's really nifty.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Dang, was that Tachikoma really made using only the limited parts available in the free demo?
Colour me impressed.
Note that those are mouths on its arms, though, not actual hands. ^_^

I hope there's a way to increase the complexity allowed in the game. The demo maxed out at seven heads and ten horns:
Now worship him! Who can make war with him?

Time for a big old bump.
Spore just went gold, and there's less than a month until release.

My only real disappointment with the creature creator, though, is that if a critter has more than two arms it only works with them in sets of two - say, a three-armed creature will have two right hands that work in unison, and one left hand.

Bah! Another game to get besides FO3 and GTAIV. But I do know that Spore is going to retail at $50 here in Canada, same price as FO3's collector's edition.
September...... Spore
October.......... Fallout 3
November....... GTA IV

Look on the upside, it'll keep you busy until FO3. The novelty will be wearing off, and then you can slide over to kill mutants, and then gangsters, before returning with the novelty fresh.

What? That's pretty gay, you'd think they would have realized that people would have wanted to make creatures with odd numbers of arms or legs.Molyneux wrote: My only real disappointment with the creature creator, though, is that if a critter has more than two arms it only works with them in sets of two - say, a three-armed creature will have two right hands that work in unison, and one left hand.
