(What do we call you then doom? Majesty? Excellence? Imperator? Space Pope?)

My...(insert honorific here), I must impress upon you the vital nature of constructing new warships. I fear we shall soon be in contact with the xeno scum, and with but a single scout at my command it would take a great deal of time and effort to obliterate our foes.

My Brother-Captains await only the comissioning of ships to carry them to my side. I beg of you, make this the Order's highest priority.

Dark Prophet Kadrass is very devout yes. But also creepy and calculating, robes and stuff. Not likely to be all rawr and frothing at the mouth, leaving that to kursk.

Hey! I may be frothing at the mouth, and insanely genocidal and xenocidal and rawr and so on....

BUT!

I am the most brutally competent and effective and beloved military commander in the history of the Order!

That you are. And my title is 'Voice of God'. No 'Your (insert honorific)', just "Voice of God, could I have the honor of having a minute of your valuable time?"

So no, I'm not the Space Pope. I'm the Space Guy-Who-Speaks-For-God-Directly.

And yes, I will be approving all sorts of outrageous public service messages. DON'T DATE ROBOTS!

EDIT: And will the army commanders kindly name their armies? Yes, Legion of Doom and suchlike are acceptable names. Also, would it be a good idea to preemptively build a gunship called the Atomic Dolphin, do you think?

Voice of God, Atomic Dolphin, whilst an excellent name, lacks a sufficient religious connotation for a Warship of the Order. Our Warships should bear names that evoke the spirit of cleansing of the cosmos, hurling our foes into the Eternal Abyss!

New update... and a terrible new enemy .
Transcript of Speech, Made by the Voice of God, Jan. 2228

My fellow worshippers of God the Cosmos. We stand at a crossroads.

It's been three weeks since the new year, and the Order has doubled in size since we colonized our first other world, His Great Generosity. The two great new worlds, discovered by our own Admiral Kursk, Silent Contemplation and In Awe of His Majesty, have both been settled, and are in the process of being developed. Our homeworld has developed its own industry massively in these last months, and we have made great strides in science, and our knowledge of the universe.

But there are other things happening. Our brave Admiral Kursk, hero of the Sublight War, has found a great new enemy, an enemy with an empire nearly the size of our own, and maybe even more might, for they have a world of class 16! They even have colonies right on our border...

Image

They are mighty. They are at our borders. They are almost certainly against us, this new race, these... Humans.

In response, we have constructed the first two FTL warships the Order has ever assembled- the Leviathan and the Baptism of Fire, under Captains OmegaChief and Vortex, respectively.

Image

They are each armed with the Sparrow-class missile, adapted from deep-space probes, and loaded with a nuclear warhead. More advanced weapons and vessels are in development as we speak, as are the means to launch an all-out offensive against the enemy! To describe our plan of attack, I will turn things over to Admiral Kursk, who will be in command of the operation. Admiral?

Well, Voice of God, the plan is simple. We will strike at the vile xeno's scout- which is clearly carrying weapons of mass destruction to use against our civilian population, and must be obliterated with the CLEANSING NUCLEAR FIRE WHICH SHALL BURN THEM ALL BURN THEM BURN- and their colony ship, currently carrying millions of the foolish xenos to another world near our space which they will inevitably use to stage operations against us. We will instead HOLE THEIR HULL AND LET THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN FLY OUT INTO THE DEPTHS OF SPACE TO DIE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DEATHS WHILE WE SIT BACK ON OUR SHIP AND LAUGH AND BURN THEIR WORLDS ONE BIT AT A TIME TO PROLONG THEIR EVIL XENO SUFFERING AND WE'LL KILL THEM AND KILL THEM AND KILL THEM ALL-

Yes, well then Admiral, we'll leave you to your... frothing at the mouth, then. Goodbye, and God the Cosmos Bless, people of the Order.

Field Marshall Montgomery here, requesting the formation of the 21st orbital drop army group, and an immediate deployment in Operation Market Garden an attack on the enemy colonies.
I am also requesting information on the current equipment of our troops and deployment options?

Hmmm, humans, we will see how they fare on the field of battle.

Clearly once we have fired our opening shots and downed thier foolish scout and theiving colony ship we should devote all fleet and army assets to securying this legendary Class 16 world, we cannot allow such Xenos to lay claim to it.

We should be able to split the fleet too, one for the colony ship, one for the scout. Oh, I also advise reducing thier Flagship to radioactive vapour if we find it it should reduce thier morale significantly.

One final thing, what is our standing policy on nuking Xenos from orbit with or new missiles?

Regretably ships cannot directly attack planets until we get the spore weapon, game mechanics don't let us. However, some invasion strats include orbital bombardment, so I'll just say the escorting fleet did it.

And I did split the fleet.

Also, everyone like my idea of how Admiral Kursk acts?

Hm. From what I've seen of the reports on these... humans... they don't honor the Great One at all! They don't even acknowledge His existence, almost as if they have no knowledge of Him! No, I think this is clear. The Great One came to these humans and offered them his Divine blessings, and they ignored him. LET THE RITES OF PURIFICATION BEGIN!

Spoiler
I think you could tone down the BURN THEM BURN THEM ALL etc. When I write my character, I'm thinking of him as "clearly insane genocidal magalomaniac, but with the ability to give even the most horriffic of deeds a veneer of civility and purpose. So, less "frothing at the mouth" and more genocidal, but eloquent, rhetoric.
Thank you, Voice of God, for your continuing faith in my command. I propose we proceed with the plans laid out by Captain Omega.

We shall send the Leviathan to engage the enemy scout and the Baptism of Fire to wipe out the xeno colony ship. Once both targets are...neutralised they will link up with our colony ship and head for this Level 16 world. The warships will remove any xeno presence from orbit and the colony ship will land our people.

Should the enemy already have colonised the world, I shall detail transports containing the 21st Orbital Drop Army Group under Marshall Montgomery to land and secure the planet.

Once this is done, the Leviathan will remain on-station as a guard ship, whilst the Baptism of Fire links up with the Devourer of Worlds, for the purpose of finding and destroying the enemy flagship.

As ever, Voice of God, we but await your command.
Spoiler
Can my flagship get upgraded soon please? Pretty please?

Spoiler
Regretably, it'll take some more ship tech- the flagship is I believe a medium ship, and we simply cannot design those hulls, so we just can't upgrade it yet. You're unarmed for now. And sure, I'll try to tone it down with the KILL THEM KILL THEM ALL.
I regret if I was unclear- the enemy has colonized the class 16. However, I don't believe the humans even have the technology to build armed vessels, so attack ships may not even be necessary to take over their worlds.

Voice of God, I respectfully insist that at least one attack ship accompanies the transports. We cannot risk our troops or indeed our colonists on a vague assumption of enemy weakness.

If nothing else, taking attack ships provides a show of force. Nothing could be more terrifying to a race than appearing in their sky and announcing for allt he world to see: "We can build interstellar warships with nuclear arsenals, and there is nothing you can do to stop us obliterating you!"

Don't worry Admiral and Captain, of course I'll be sending ships. And the ship gets to help with the invasion by bombing the planet from orbit!

Not really, but I'm trying to bring some character to this. The ship bombed the planet, to hell with game mechanics.

Also, I was reading this site's wiki, and I wound up reading the article on Darkstar. It mentioned SomethingAwful going after him, but I can't seem to find what they wrote. Anyone have a link?

New Update!
Transcript of Speech, Made by the Voice of God, July 2228

My fellow believers in God the Cosmos, I must adress you again.

I have not spoken to you for six months, since our declaration of war against the humans. I bring good news- the war goes well, there is no resistance at all!

I also bring startling news. Our great Admiral Kursk, famed explorer and hero of the Sublight War, missed the planet the enemy colony ship was going to. It was within a sector of the homeworld- and it was Class Twenty-Six. Fortunately, Captain OmegaChief and the crew of the Leviathan were able to prevent the colony ship from reaching the planet, allowing us to colonize the world, christened His Mighty Fortress, instead.

We also destroyed all the enemy scouts within our space...

Image

... and blew up an enemy mining starbase not far outside our space.

Image

As this State of the Order projection shows, we are doing well in the war! Our economy, however, is suffering. But fear not, believers! We shall get through this hardship, and go on to cleanse God the Cosmos of all who plague Him. We shall be victorious!

Well it certianly is an impressive mudball, might I advise sending some ships to penetrate as deep into human space as possible, in the hopes of brining the war to thier doorstep and shooting thier constructors and colony ships down as soon as they launch?

Captain Inconsideratus Providentia, hereby applying for command of the Sword of Inevitable Justice, a ship specially designed to incorporate new 'Artificial Intelligence' technology. Surely, this is a sign of the Great One's blessing, that we might have uncorruptible servants of our Empire!
Spoiler
Our race does not have the Frankenstein's Monster, Skynet, any of that, Rogue AI lore. It does not cross their mind that an AI could be anything but loyal to their creators and, through them, to the Great One
My personality assessment says that I am 'over-focused' on new technology of all types, taking the 'Great One as the Universe' truth to heart and thinking that any technology can only bring us closer to Him. Some consider my interest in Antimatter to be Heresy, as the substance is obviously no part of the Great One, considering its reaction to the rest of Him, but I ask you, could any part of the Universe, being the Great One, be truly anathema to any other part of Him? Obviously Antimatter, Black Holes, all of those, are simply a part of the Great One that we do not yet understand!

Those that are attempting to understand the Universe without first accepting that it is He must be made aware of their transgression, and if they cannot be brought into the flock, they must be made one with Him, so they can understand in their next life!
Spoiler
Basically, a complete technophile that believes any new technology brings us closer to the Divine, and doesn't understand those that consider trying to understand all of the Great One as heresy. Doesn't understand to the point of being really abrasive to those who believe that, and may be singled out for 'observation' by the chaplains.

Other technological societies that are not following our religion will hit all his religious buttons, and he will first attempt to convert them, but come across as a nut because he can't understand how anyone could think something so obviously wrong, and he will get frustrated enough that he starts spamming nukes towards the end of the conversation.
EDIT: And holy shit, a class 28! That's ridiculous, this early in the game. Please tell me we have a spare colony ship - I think we should station at least one ship around the planet until it gets there, even if it's only one turn away.
Surely this is a sign of His favour!
