What is so great about Gmail that many are slobbering over?

1 GB of mail storage, message threading, searchable messages, labels instead of folders (multiple labels can be applied to a message), fast interface, advertisements in the interface that aren't intrusive, and no ugly ads in outgoing messages, ever.

And that's just the beta.

Toss me one. Black__paint@hotmail.com. I could come up with reasons, but since people seem to be just giving them away I'll simply say that I'd appreciate it.

Just be advised that Hotmail and Yahoo block gmail invites.

I've invited Hotmail and Yahoo users without much of a problem. I was just sure to inform them of where to look. I dunno if the behavior has changed, but I let them know when I send my invite just in case.

I both /was/ and have invited a hotmail user. Only shunts it to junkmail if you've got the extra filtering kicked in, and even then it's a simple matter to have a glance in there ten minutes after the invite is sent. Oh, and 6 invites here, fire off emails to +Ben.Warhol @ gmail.com

Same here. I sent an invite to my own hotmail account, and gave myself a second gmail account. And i invited at least two other hotmail users.

My stupid friend that I invited, has the filters cranked up to maximum (address book only) and set to delete immediately, not move to junk folder
