I already dress like a wanksta in real life ;)

Well, not really...but kinda. I have the whole baggy, dark blue jeans/loose hoodie/white kicks thing down. But I don't wear necklaces or earrings or fubu or anything. Plus, while my pants are loose, I don't let them drag on the ground or fall off my ass by sagging a ton. I do have a bit of humility :P

I actually think I dress quite well  Kinda preppy white boy, but I can get ready in 4 minutes or less

Me too, except I do wear fubu and I'm not a white suburban kid. Don't wear necklaces just because and I always seen earings as a weakness because can be torn off your ear in a fight and leaves a hole defacing my body permanently. Probably good I didn't get one in high school since we weren't allowed to wear em a lot of the time and my friend had gotten his ear pierced and put a band-aid on it to cover it but the coach smart up and forced him removed it and I don't think he was able to get it back in due to swelling or something (don't really remember was a while ago but I think that was it) so that was that with the pierce. I also don't wear caps or du-rags due to it looking stupid on me.

Whoops looks like I derailed from topic. Back on topic, sounds like a good game. Does it get tedious having to eat just right and constantly exercise and all that shit? Some of the things they've implemented into the game sounds like the sims 2.

Not that bad, really. I spent a bunch of time maxing him out, but you don't have to. And it didn't even take me all that long to get full muscle/stamina stats. It's nice, because you do this at the start of the game when you're still learning the ropes, getting acquainted with the city, etc.

Now, however, I'm on the missions and boy do they suck. Home Invasion and Wrong Side of the Tracks especially. I'm off to try one of OG's missions, see if that works out any better.

Oh yeah. Damn I'm envious.

So, what's your preferred method of style?

I like the green jeans, black tanktop, green lowtops, blue shades, and dogtags as my everyday wear (since my guy is so well ripped, it works well).
Green Jeans yes, black tanktop yes, black lowtops, no shades, dogtags, and a green rag (back). Gotta wear the gangsta colours. At least until I find some better clothes. Though now that you mention it, I might try the assault look- I don't think it really matters if you're not in gangsta colours

I changed my haircut to the high fade, I think it's called.

My muscle is totally maxed out, but my stamina is only at half way at this point. It's all the X button pushing. I'm afraid of breaking my controller. And the damn treadmill sucks, the bike is easier.

I don't know. Maybe it's just that I failed it once and the "Wrong Side of the Tracks" mission just had me suitably pissed off. :)

Agreed. I just sit there and tap that shit at Level 10 for a long time. I actually maxed stamina out shortly before muscle. I would not want to meet this guy in a dark alley. :)

So, does anyone have any kind of list or whatever on when all the stuff opens? I have Binco, Sub Urban, and Pro open for clothes, the food places, and the low rider shop. When do I get AmmuNation, Zip, Victim, Sacks, and the clubs to open?

I just want to be able to mark my progress along.

Flying the Dodo is now a lot more fun than it used to be. The plane is much more stable since it has full wings this time around. My buddy and I broke into the airport by using a car to hop over the wall and nabbed a plane. We decided to have a little fun, swooping low over the city with me blazing away with my machine gun, missing everything but making everyone panic.

Eventually, we decided to try duelling with Police helicopters and flew outside our parole area. But there weren't any helicopters waiting for us...

THERE WAS A FUCKING FIGHTER JET! It swooped in out of nowhere and before we even fully understood what the hell was going on, it tagged us with a missile! We bailed out before the plane blew up and fell to our deaths instead.

This game's awesome. :D

Yes. The plane will also explode if you ram something at a high enough speed, which we found out the second time we encountered Mr. Harrier.

Damn, I was playing this the other night. I think the Ammunation superstore opens when you have to do a mission to take over a nearby 'hood. You can go in and stock up on rounds before you go in. Just after we came out of that shop, a P51 flew over at head-height, and smaked into a building across the street

Home Invasion? WTF, thats pathetically easy (unless you can't drive).

Did they nerf the cops or something? I killed about a dozen people and shot up a rival gang and I had one star and no cop showed. Hell killing the cops that show up and getting away from two stars is just as easy. And since cop killing gains respect, the police are no longer a threat but opportunities. I am the proud of a police car and motorcycle and thats the two I've kept, I've stolen a lot for Vigilante with no problem.

I never did the Vigilante missions in previous games until I had the means to outright blow-up enemy cars. I mean, how the fuck can you kill anyone on a police bike or car? Its just not practical.

So, on that note, where's the AH-64A in this game? :)

I also need to find a suit of body armor, do the ambulance missions, become a pimp, and, most importantly, find all 100 tags in Los Santos, which will give me the weapons I need - unfortunately the walktrhoughs for tags arent available yet (I spent an entire night on VC just looking for the secret packages, with the walkthrough next to me).

Damnit, here i am avoidig this thread 'cos of spoilers and it turns out there aren't any.

Best thing that's happened to me so far?
A plane crashed in front of me. Spontaneusly, just crashed. Man that rocked. Everyone and everything interactacts with each other now. Guys will whistle at hot girls or try chatting them up and most importantly police will chase people apart from you!

This game is VC but refined to the level after the next.

The only thing not so good about this game is the music and that's only 'cos i don't like hip-op that much.

And i loved the reference to GTA3 with The Guy popping up. According to the manual i can expect the mafia dude form GTA3 and also Kent Paul and Rosenberg from VC as well.

And man but The Truth is fucking funny, Peter Fonda rocks.

This whole game is fucking brilliant!

Where the fuck is the goddamn harrier? They modeled it but you can't fly it! I also want to fly a chopper and get that Harrier after me so I can be machine gunning some poor fucker when it comes up and fires a missle up my ass to recreate 24 Season 3.

Hmm... try this page for tag locations. I ran across it while looking up reviews of GTA:SA, and immediately bookmarked it when I saw what it was.

Given what others in this thread have been saying about the game, I might just get the PS2 version, even though I had originally decided to wait for the PC release.

I think I saw something about how to get one. It was some race or whatever in Las Venturas. Something like that. I ran across it on the GameFAQs boards.

The Apache is on the carrier in San Fierro I think. But I'm sure you have to go and satisfy some kind of special requirement for it to show up, or even to get on the damn flight deck, as I saw no gangway for it when I went roaming by with my floating tank. :D Well, unless you try landing/parachuting onto the flight deck, but that gets complicated.

Alas, I have read all these stories of the P-51s crashing into buildings...yet have not seen that myself. *sigh*

As to the cops, it's kind of annoying when they shoot at you with one star. Especially annoying if you're unlucky and three motorcycle cops happen to be right near you. :D

As to dealing with the Harrier, go steal the Learjet. The Dodo is simply not fast enough to dodge the Harrier. The Learjet, on the other hand, can, at least for a while and so long as you're paying attention to what's going on behind you (I think there's some kind of warning beep you get when it opens fire on you, but I may just be hearing things).

I'm going to go back to the missions soon. Home Invasion was annoying on the drive over there. I didn't recognize that elevated section of road for what it was and had to go backtrack. Damn it!

Right now I'm going on for a second save game, go to where I open up the stores, food joints, and barber, and make myself one fat ghetto homie. With a miserable sense of fashion.

Thanks for the tag map, now the problem is comprehending the print-out of it without running back to the PC every 5 minutes to match up the screenshot with the tag number ... I only found an extra 5 before I accidentally got damn killed ... grrr.

On one star cops will only shoot you if you have a gun out, so just switch to H-t-H and bust out your kung-fu or boxing skills.

Has anyone noticed that the missions go from 'really easy' to 'fucking hard' around the end of sanfran start of Vegas? I mean, the third time I accidentally flew over Area 51 chasing the damn feds and got shot down by an F-16 over the Vegas strip was pretty annoying. About the same time the story stops being focussed and tight and goes back to the old extremely vague motivation thing from the earlier games. After the well done early missions this was disappointing.

I'm kinda disappointed stats don't slowly go down; I maxed out my dual shotties ages ago and haven't used them for 100+days ingame, and I've still got all the lockon bonuses etc. It woulda been nice to have your skills reflect what you've been doing and not how much you spammed the pistol at the start of the game :)

Actually, does anyone know a way to lower your muscle? The reason should be obvious, but aside from not eating and biking everywhere I haven't found a way.

Now that they've fixed the horrible noswim noclimb problems of the old games, I hope they give you something to do at the high end, like buy yachts or furnish jets or have a valet at every hotel or whatever. There's a million dollar blackjack table; how long before we've all got essentially unlimited money? Not having spawning guns is a step in this direction, along with the much reduced mission payoffs, but with gambling you can just take all Wuzis money and live large... except you can't, because with a million dollars you can just but 100,000 burger meals :D

Does anyone know if the zone conquest thing ever happens again? I was totally looking forward to spreading the Grove Street boys over the whole damn state, but it looks like its gone back to 'extremely vague' GTA stuff again. Bah.

I've been playing it for a while now and this is a game that tries to do pratically everything. I've seen games do that before, only they rarely were any good. GTA:SA, on the other hand, rocks!

I havn't gooten very far, but even the beginning here is just pure fun. I'm about to go for the mission set that clears off Los Santos.

About turf wars: (Spoilerized, just in case)
The turf war in the beginning is only temporary. But after a long while you will get new turf wars. For the entire state. So Grave St. can take over the state. Just not until late in the story.

Hey thanks for the heads-up. I haven't ripped off Caligulas yet, and I assume alot of changes will happen after I do.

But I'm kinda hoping there are many, many more races/derbys/stunt events/etc... GTA already does these things as good or better than many games, and I don't understand why RS didn't just throw in fifty-odd race events, since the map is already there. My big request - JETSKIS. And Jetski races. Actually, BMX races or stunt events would be sweet too. Hopefully the PC version will allow checkpoint arrays to be added, allowing race additions.

And do people really exit highways from the inside lane in America? So many Vegas residents have died because of this terrible habit (and my SPAS-12).

The game gets much better when you can start gang wars. Your gang members are mostly useless, though. They're just cannon fodder. In the meantime, I can take down all three waves with the AK without getting hit if I'm careful. The Ballas are in disarray and panicked retreat.
