Ministry of Defence Announces Fleet Expansion

In the wake of fighting between the Kokand Empire and Floater Republics, the Republic's Ministry of Defense has announced its decision to expand ship count by as much as 50% in the coming months.

Said MoD representative Vanderhess: "Despite the quick settlement of this conflict, the international situation remains fundamentally unstable. We have a number of expansionist powers, and nations which disagree about the relationship between international law and morality, and no one is willing to back down on issues. It is imperative that the PSR expand its ability to defend itself. Our army is one of the best, if not the best in known space, but our fleet is not large enough to fully defend all our territory. This must change.:

Actually, the crew of the "Black Alice" probably felt very little terror- they were not expecting an attack, and were probably relieved that the situation had calmed down. There couldn't have been more than a few seconds of panic before the Kokand barrage killed everyone on board.

The Imperial Palace commented on the recent settlement. It appluaded the Kokand's push for peace in regards to the deliberate provocation of Floater Forces. The Senate voted to condemn the Floater actions taken and are rethinking ties with the FLoaters.

In other words the crew of the Hammer and her late Captain were all awarded the the Silver Cross, the second highest decoration in the AIN. They were praised for their bravery and dedication to duty.

The pair of OU destroyers floated in the nether. Nearby was the remaining wreckage of two Floater strike cruisers. Marines in power armor slowly sifted through the twisted metal, looking for technology, anything useful. Already they had gone through the wreckage of the other Floater ships, looking for survivors, and picking up stuff that the Floaters probably wouldn't be too happy about other nations having.

After they finshed searching the ships, they locked tractor beams onto the hulls, and began towing them towards the sun.

In a recent meeting, the Council of the Free Republics elected to put an end to the ties between the Asgard Empire and the Free Republics.

The Asgard's willingness to forget our long history of cooperation forces us to end our current military alliance with the Asgard."

Said one official. Great Cluster debates are overwhelmingly in favor of this action, though many major merchant cartels would like to continue trade with the Asgard.

The crews of the vessels of Task Force Uziel will be given burial-by-proxy into the Alpha Centauri system's sun. The ceremony will begin at standardhour 1520 three days hence. All are invited to attend, viewing space of the spectacular event will be available to mourners at the Uziel Military Cluster, which will be hosting the ceremony.

In a related note, Great Cluster support for the usage of the Womb to manufacture warships has increased greatly. Bondman Priest Daniel Frakes has given his permission to open the other half of the Womb's docks to military construction. A furthur ten "Republic" class dreadnoughts are slated for construction.

The DE senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of new military construction today. Such contruction will focus on a new shipclass nown as the Avenger Class Heavy cruiser. This ship will supplement currently existing ships with an increased density of heavy particle cannons and anti-matter weapons It will also sport mass drivers and other KE weapons.

he senate also voted to continue production of the extremely successful Sinful Class Frigate, and to strengthen system defenses.

Kokand space:

The <Armoured Data Bouy> (Black Box+Emergency Beacon) from the ship "Fang Ripper" was finally recovered.

The ship was carring thousands of humans who until recently had been inprisoned in stasis by an Extra-gallactic race of slavers. The Drakkar class vessel was lost with call hands.

Official inquiry states that it is not the fault of the Kokand Empire that the vessel entered a warzone. It's distruction while unfortunate, was the reuslt of the Fenari vessel's failure to adaquatly obtain entrance clearance before it emerged into the system, during the hostilities.

Ironically the vessel and it's Refugees were granted quarentine acess to the system an hour and a half after the vessel's destruction when the first transmission intercept was discovered.

Secondary analyisis shows that heavy jamming platforms and EW systems taking place while the ship was enroute prevented the earlier ship based signals from reaching Kokand space control.



Kokand Empire, sequestered in a hospital suite under full quarentine a group of 5 people were considered to be the luckiest biengs alive in the sector. Crowded conditions had led to their being bearthed in the heavily shielded former "Armoury" of the "Fang Ripper" the four former slaves and their Fenari "Nurse" had survived for several hours in the sealed tomb, before they were discovered by Kokand Marines. The group was suffering from Carbon Monoxide poisoning, Radation Poisoning, and severe shock, but all would eventually recover. Of further confusion, was to where one would find a translater that spoke "Mant" (A language long forgotten on earth), or how to inform the news that not exactly "ALL" hands had been lost.
