Sadly, the top gun on the B1 isn't very useful. That tank is the prime reason I haven't tried to go up the French heavy line yet (I tried it on the Test Server...not fun).

The T20 is an extremely fun tank, here's hoping the Pershing is good too. In related news:

B1 is horrible, if you load all gold it's still a crapper softer Matilda.

To be honest, until tier 8 the French heavy line is all a bit of a struggle.

The 50 100 is lovely though.

The BDR and ARL are actually quite nice, as long as you recognize that their usefulness is 100% present in their top guns.

They're alright, but the combination of long aimtimes, high dispersion, and poor armour prevent them from making the best use of their guns.

Any two of those things would be OK, but all three together spell trouble.

That's why the 50 100 is better, because it can (and should) stack a vertical stabiliser and gun laying drive the dispersion and aimtime is less punishing.

I'm up to the WZ-132, and they've all been great. 59-16 is a bit meh due to the low pen, but with that tiny reload time on the autoloader, flanking, and liberal use of APCR, it can be hilarious. The 131 and 132 on the other hand are fantastic all the time.

Yeah, the 131 and 132 are fun as balls. The 85mm is so effective with that superfast reload, and they're agile as hell.

I'm grinding the Type T-34 right now, and man this takes some getting used to. I keep trying to treat it like my T-34, despite that I'm still using the stock 76mm gun, which seemingly bounces and ricochets off everything. Once that's done with, though, I'll have to decide whether to stay on the medium branch or jump back into the light branch...

Everyone likes the T34, I find it sluggish and unresponsive.

It's funny, driving around with the WZ-132's stock gun (159mm pen, 200 damage) and still dealing more damage over the course of the battle than tier 9 and 10 heavy noobs.

I find it funny when that happens. Occasionally it does happen to me in the ST-1 too, but that's on a hilariously bad/unlucky match on my end. Slowly but surely I'm working out of those.

I generally consider it a bad match if my high tier light tanks are out of the top half of the damage table. Top five is preferred.

Not often I see high tier arty get a top gun these days, but this guy nailed it and saved our game.

I typically fail hard in light tanks. The one exception is the ELC, which is probably the single most fun thing I've ever driven. Nothing like a tiny glass cannon that can hurt anything it happens to come across :P

Had a game today where the top tank on the enemy team was a WZ-132, he pulled just north of 4000 damage on Himmelsdorf.

Sadly, then he met me.

Pershing is awesome. It's got enough armor to play 'heavy' when you're top of the list, and a number of key advantages. An impenetrable mantlet, superior gun depression, and great maneuverability.

Here's the replay for that game with the 132 killing mah hole team.

Also see how I manage to put a shell right between the tracks of an E75 to hit a friendly on the other side. That was clever too.

Considering that I'm basically using the same tactics as I would for a Matilda, except for trying to rely on armor to bounce shots like the Matilda can, the B1 really is a crappier Matilda. About the only advantage the B1 has is that it's faster. Still, as long as I'm not facing a tier 5 or a Matilda the B1 is actually pretty fun. I'd wonder if I just like playing crappy tanks, except I hated the SAu 40.

So, stats for the Japanese line are out.

Right now on supertest, the STB-1 has 7.5 r/m with the L7, at -6 depression, and a turret near equivalent to the T-62A. (Even the Type 61 at tier 9 has 6r/m with it, compared to 5 on the Centurion or Leo A)

I think I may have to be grinding that line, because that's basically better DPM than the T-62A (including first shot) with higher alpha and better depression, on a similarly mobile platform, and the only downside seems to be "only" .36 accuracy.

(Maybe the gun handling will be worse, but I can't imagine it will be terribad at tier 10)
