I have returned from my vacation and would be willing to join this STGOD and assist in moderating it. I feel that I was fairly neutral as far as player alliances went.

The Pan-Slavic Republic will be returning in a rather highly modified form:
1) The name has been changed to the Pan-Slavic Union.
2) The Union has transmuted from a liberal democracy into a nationalist pseudofascist state. Whee.

I will be, if possible, using a nation of telepaths.

Essentially, some time after STGOD mk 1 a telepath mutation showed up in the human genome

However we choose to run this the general background is that they fled from oppression and founded their own nation...

They were assisted by the remnants of the Thylans(my race from the original... you remember, the section of the population that escaped into hyperspace) And have inherited the Thylans love of freedom. Unfortunatly the thylans didnt have the numbers to maintain a viable population....

Sort of what the telepaths in B5 want to do... I will not be able to use the telepathy in any meaningful fashion without the permission and cooperation of those that I use it on...(Hard to scan a diplomat to determine his intentions without the other player telling me what he is thinking)

I will return the Floaters- as the Unbound Confederation, a bloated power, consisting of a number of Floater-infested systems and a few resentful, heavily policed former Asgard and Kokand worlds, which exist under the iron hand of Floater colonial governments- worlds where order in enforced by units of genemodded Floater soldiers and orbiting warships.

The huge asteroid habitats of the Unbound Confederation are choked with massive, barely-sustained populations, largely consisting of the descendents of refugees from Floater-aligned worlds which were rendered uninhabitable by the massive war between the Ordino Accords and the NBA a century before. The ancient tenets of the Peace of the Void and the Freedom of the Void are no longer of much importance to the Confederation's council, which is in fact the figurehead of an oligarchy of military and business leaders who do everything they can to maintain the Unbound hold over the systems the Unbound control- the systems most heavily devastated by the war.

The Unbound Confederation's capital, Mohaim, is a huge industrial facility, ringed in military clusters. The fleets of warships necessary to maintian the fragile peace in the Confederation fly from The Ring- a band of military bases surrounding Mohaim. Inside the fortress asteroids of the Ring, conscripts are genemodded for service on the conquered Asgard and Kokand worlds, given tougher bones and the proper musculature to survive in the high-G environment.

Some remember the ancent tenets of the Peace of the Void, and remember the day when a billion Floaters left known space- but the world they know is far different from the one which existed a thousand years before.

I'll be bringing back the Skaven. Are there any objections to me bringing out battle and seer magic?

Monacora is Back. Story line depends on Stormbringers willingness (if he brings back the Asgard) and the time that has Elapsed between the last stgod, and this one.

Basically Monacora has changed its political policy to one similar to pre WWI britain, where it agrees to stay neutral in all things, except if someone challenges its Dominence in Ground combat.

EDIT: Clarified something.

If I can use teeps I have no objection to magic use.

Teeps will have a P-rating... or several actually.

A p-rating from 1-15 for telepathy. Just like my favorite sci-fi series (P1s can send short telepathic messages... P15s are like Lyta after she comes back from Vorlon space)

a T-rating for telekinesis(The vast majority of people and characters have a t-rating of 0 or 1. 1 allows you to draw weapons faster, and to pick up things like cins... T15s are like Tetsuo Shima)

Psychometry(item reading, or visions) exist but are extremely rare(1/1000000th of the population)
Grunts usually are P1s T1s

Ths gives them the ability to quickly draw a weapon, and have a preternatural "danger sense" Not quite precog.. but the projected thoughts of enemies will make it harder to ambush them etc etc...

Espionage agents and others will genrally have stats that depend on their roles in the social/military structure.

I'll play again. I'll re-use the KSE exactly as it was with one exception

No more different factions, i went through too much bull shit just to cover up one little mistake.

And i'll have to change alliances, since thirdfain has done a total 180 with his empire.

I'd be using the Asgard Empire again. Basically gone reclusive, xenophobic and violence prone.

They'd be retaining controll over their own worlds though they'd have pulled back from Sol. And they'd have colonized extensively and have massive defenses and fleets for their size.

Not to mention they did more than a bit of genoicide in the Big War. Not to mention conquerred a few DE worlds.

My own rewrite will require the conquest of at least 3-4 former Asgard and Kokand worlds, now under military rule by UC governers.

Will this be a problem for you, Stormbringer?

Probably considering that the rewrite of history that gave me Europe entailed me giving them the EA battle plans.

Keep in mind that the NBA was vastly outnumbered- even if they "won" the war, conflict would have been intense for both sides, and many worlds would have likely changed sides.

Yes, I'd like to hold onto my worlds. I kind of figured that the rather nasty first strikes would have precluded the kind of war of attrition that would allow for plantary conquest (excepting perhaps forced surrenders).

In sort, yes, I mind. And I'd prefer to keep my worlds.

There's lots of worlds to go around, and having the Floaters turned into a bloated, brutal colonial power will make for a more interesting game.

You were the person with which the Floater republics were at war, and it would make sense.

There could hardly have been a brutal colonial rulership of the worlds of any of the other starnations apart from yours, as they were all floater allies.

Are you just as attached to the Kokand worlds? They were also hostle to the Floaters but weren't quite members of the Asgard empire.

Perhaps it would. But the whole thing disintegrated and so we'll never know what would have happened. If you want to be a colonial power then perhaps take on some one else's worlds.

And if you want to write your power that way fine, but I don't have to accomodate you. I'm keeping all of my worlds and those I made a deal for with Straha.

Actually, they were just as much a part. And yes, I am as attached to them as any.

They'd also be radioactive cinders before they could be declared secure, the mammoth cost and manpower drain of invading wouldn't be sustainable by the relatively small floater population. 50 billion well armed people who hate you backing up the largest ground army in the game are kind of hard to beat without simplying wiping out the surface from orbit, which makes seizing the planet pointless anyway.

I'd suggest simply inventing another power and war, the scale of this new STGOD is going to make three or four planets a tiny thing anyway.

The way my backstory has it is that after the rather intense naval battle started at the end of the STGOD, in which both sides were apparently devastated, the EA wanted me to contribute my Astral Navy to the fray as well, the commanders who had helped to draw up the plans and had it written that the brunt of the ground job would go to Monacora were outraged. The prince, who had not yet declared war on the AK empire rushed an envoy over with the offer of the combined EA battle plans, and Monacora's withdrawal from the war in exchange for all of their earthly holdings. Which was accepted, and happened. As a result of this Monacora stays out of all wars now, and is only going to come into a war if it is attacked, or its complete dominence of ground warfare is threatened.

Easy enough to capture a planet, if the population has just been through a year or so of heavy war and blockading- simply park your warships in orbit, land your troops, and issue the simple proclomation- for every Floater occupation troop that is killed, a single hypervelocity kinetic strike will be landed in a major population center. A world's population may very well take defeat over death, especially if they are already dispirited.

Add to that the fact that the Floater military, while small, is being assisted by the massive armies of the Pan-Slavic Republic and the New Roman Empire. Later in the war, refugees from burned worlds end up accepting genemodding and conscription in exchange for a safe place for their families and a chance at surivial.

Oh, and the three or four worlds would be a fraction of the total Floater holdings- Floaters inhabit many systems in the former New Roman and Outworld Alliance territories, as Floaters can use a system which has had it's main world rendered uninhabitable.
