Arugh! I used to get a blister on my thumb playing Zangeif. :D DOing the arm spin, which requires a 360.

You know the worst part? They would change how moves were done from series to series. In X-Men: CotA, Storm's moves were one way, but in the CVS games, they changed it completely!

Mostly because then they forgot 'Gief Spinning Piledriver grab range is absolutely huge. About as bad as the Yoga Noogie from Dhalsim.
*RANT MODE* And I don't at ALL get the '42-chain-combo moves of UBER ENERGY EXPLOSION DEATH!' that is all the rage with the latest Capcom fighter games, where the status of between two and five annoying 'guages', with the right button movements, results in the entire screen going into Epilepsy Seizure Mode for a few seconds, and giant energy balls BDZing the screen, after which you finish blinking the spots out of your eyes to see that you have done about as much damage as a few good punches would have netted you.
But that the fun part...and yeah it gets a little eh, mostly because a good deal of them have infinites(I know...I actually use characters who can, looks pretty but then games become who has finer twitch control).

Though for lesser effects could try the Capcom vs SNK games...the first one is Ryu at his fucking finest(bullshittin Shin-ShoRyuKen...sorry a move that does 50% and is comboed for 95% combo and takes the skill of neophyte is not a mark of a good game). The second is much more polished game and less abuse(sort of...but the better characters are the lesser used)

They have a Saturn to DC converter(that or the ASCII pad...though that baby cost $60+)

You could always do like I"ve been tempted to do for years... buy a console and build into it your systems, matching up the joystick to the control pad. Slap you a tube in there and voila... instant machine.

It depends on the game and character. Tekken series, I'm a learner. Lei Wulong is very nasty when you learn to switch between all five stances. Marduk is just evil once you learn his long and short range moves.

For War of the Monsters, I'm a masher with everyone except Agamo. An 8-hit combo for ~33% life is enough to make me stick with him.

Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat I'm a shameless masher. I don't really like those games, and I'll generally use someone with cheap moves (Chun Li, E. Honda, Scorpion, the cyborgs).

Soul Caliber 2 I'm learning slowly (don't have it yet). Raphael is a very interesting character.

SACRILEGE!!! SACRILEGE, I SAY!!! (ever-so-delicately)

Maybe I'm biased. I've only beaten the arcade version a few dozen times with Mitsurugi. :D

I mastered SF2 and Tekken 3, I never much got into the wole power bar thing. Though recently some friends and I rented DBZ: Budokai, and I owned completely.

For SF2 give me Chun-Li or E Honda and I'll commit ownage.

Tekken 3: Basically anyone, but especially Heihachi or Law.

Button Learner, except in SSBM. I never seem to have a problem against the computer there, even on the hardest handicaps, but against a human player...well...the 10 year old little brother can beat me regulary. I suppose that's not so painful when he hasn't lost a single match in any Arcade we've been to in the last 3 years though, and that's well over 100 matches by now.

Don't usually play much else besides CVS2 now, though once SC2 gets released over here I'll certainly get stuck into it. I usually stick to the leggy females such as Mai or Chun-Li, though I've been learning to use the Ryu-eske Sakura and Yuri a lot better recently as well.
