For almost any sidequest of the character it's a specific part of the story and doesn't matter which planet(except if the sidequest is planet specfic...everyone's but Canderous literally)
There is a point of dialogue...Juhani's is the longest of them...literally around the 16-17th dialogue, a person will start up said side quest on a planet's docking area.
And then if it's planet specfic...all but Juhani's is...go there.
Juhani's is special and buggy...starts any docking ring and can end at any docking ring.

Made a mistake with Canderous.neoolong wrote:Actually, isn't Jolee's also place specific? The guy is held on Manaan right, so you can't solve it anway else?
Though the point pretty much is...everyone's extra side quest(everyone but the droids have one somewhere down the line) can be activated anywhere but the planet it's needed to be(you can't activate Mission's if you're on Tatooine...Carth's on Korriban...etc), though with Jolee if you're on Manaan with him it activates(the wife appears)...and can only solve it on Manaan.

Did anyone try Force Persuade on the hotel owner on Manaan? He said he'd testify that Sunry left before the shot, but then he got up before court and said after! I swear I wish I coud've force choked him right then and there- when you're under the influence of Revan you STAY under the influence of Revan, dammit.
I got the two special crystals- Heat of the Guardian and Mantle of whatever. Heart of the Guardian is sweet, but when I swap out my ordinary Red crystal with it the overall damage resulting from my Krayt and Opila crystals goes down from 7-21 to someting less. I'll see what happens when i get the sapith crystal (8-22 with an opila)

Speaking of the Manaan courts...
*shudder*
I hope the Empire blew the absolute shit out of that worthless planet 4,000 years later. Screw kolto, we got bacta.
I mean, seriously, WTF? I get into the Sith "embassy" (more like military base...) but my Persuade fails on the officer so the alarm is raised. I fight my way through everything I have to, slicing computers or reprogramming droids in favor of sabering anything that moves. I grab the droid data and run back out, only to be arrested. So I'm figuring, "Er... well, OK, their laws. I'll go quietly." They lock me up and that shittty arbiter asks me questions and I answer truthfully thinking, "I'm a Jedi Knight, I'm not gonna weasle out of court through a web of lies. Best to be honest, besides, just killed a bunch of military personnel bent on the complete domination of the entire galaxy with ideals that run opposite to everything the Jedi hold dear, any reasonable person wouldn't mind a few dead Sith."
Silly me.

I managed to beat the rap for that using proof that the Sith were up to no good.
Guess, vigilante justice is okay on Manaan if the people can be shown to be bad.
I did manage to get the other guy off of a murder charge, even though he was guilty, by telling people that he was to weak to kill the guy, and had the witnesses cast the blame on the Sith.
Strange that I didn't get any dark side points for that.

Never found one in the base; I didn't exactly turn it upside down. In, out, and unfortunately someone noticed. After I loaded my last save and went through it again, I dismissed the arbiter and put got acquitted of my oh-so-heinous crimes thanks to a reasonable doubt. Fucking Selkath.Vympel wrote:You told them about the kidnapped Selkath youth ... right?
Then there was the trial after that for the similarly oh-so-heinous crime of going down to their secret station near the kolto...

What's really funny is that if you let your arbiter keep talking, eventually he'll try an insanity defense. For those of use who turned the base upside down once we were inside, we have a datapad with the Sith's evil plans.
A neat thing about this game is that the lines between good and evil are greyer than in most games. Usually, the Republic is the bastion of all that is good and right in the galaxy, while the Empire or the Sith are nothing but evil. Well, okay, so the Sith is still all that is evil, but neither the Republic nor the Jedi Council are innocent.

Jedineo- all in all, it seems you made a very poor job of exploring the game, don't you think? What else have you missed, hmmmm ?
A gripe I had was the lightsabre design- it would've been nice if you could customize the external look of the sabre, I didn't like the default. And why should Malak get his own special looking one?
About good and evil: the Sunry trial is great in this respect. If you did your job properly, you know Sunry did it- but the person he killed was a Sith spy. I got him off, personally (even in my light side game). It was quite appropriate as Jolee's quest, given his neutrality and his attitude in general (e.g. I knew you were Revan but it wasn't my place to tell you).

Exactly.
Just finished the darkside game. That was fucking awesome- right down to getting my old robes back on the Star Forge- I liked them so much, for looks and for their abilities, that I dumped my beloved Calo Nord's Battle Armor for them. Combined with the Sith Mask I found on Korriban, I looked like one bad ass mofo Dark Lord of the Sith. Malak didn't stand a chance, of course.
One problem though: why the fuck can I kill Mission and Zaalbar, but Carth runs away like a pussy when he realises what you've done? Can you chase him and kill him? I didn't.

Because he whines and grated my nerves...I could kill Mission but not the other whiny SOB...it wasn't fair.Thunderfire wrote:Why kill him. All his relatives are dead and the repubic will die soon.Ghost Rider wrote:

This happening is the worst thing you could do to him.

One thing I would've liked is Darth Revan's original mask (with hood over it) so I could look exactly as I used to. It was supposed to hide the corruption on his face (I notice that this only happens to Revan and Palpatine- clearly uf you're a Sith and really strong in the force then that's what happens to you. It's mentioned at some point in the game as well, can't remember where). I had this Vacuum Mask in my possession (have no idea where it came from) that looked kinda like it, but it didn't match very well. The Sith Mask or the Tulak Hord 'mask' (don't know why it's called that) work better.Ghost Rider wrote:

Nah. I thought that was having an underling do a job I should do, seeing as how Bastila was egging me on etc ...Ah you didn't have Zaalbar kill Mission ?
Did you try chasing him up the path he runs up? Maybe you can get him that way ...And nope...can't kill the pussy Carth....dammit I wanted to here him scream...killed his worthless son, now I wanted his head.
I've now started my cheating game. I like playing Dark Side so much I'll leave cheat Light Side for last
Some more thoughts (the mark of a good game/film/book whatever- you keep thinking about it)
- The various blaster weapons were right on in terms of looks
- Did anyone notice those annoying Sith fighters look like Mara Jade's ship in 'Mysteries of the Sith', the expansion to DF2: Jedi Knight?
- The Sith/Ratakan warships looked quite good, though the design was far from optimal (why the dead space?)
- The Republic warships were not so good. Pitifully underarmed, it seemed, but I guess the guns were much larger than the Sith ones.
- In general, the space battle cutscenes were nice, but they should've seriously upped the scale. They did a good job with the Star Wars mythos, except in terms of capital ships size.

I finished my light side game last night at 5 AM and I can fully agree with all the praise the game has received. KotOR is definetely the best computer RPG together with Fallout 2. I began my dark side game today and I'm looking forward to it.
Anyway, my light side game left me wondering one little thing: In my game, it seems that Bastila fell in love with my character just as I had hoped, and before I went to meet Malak on Star Forge, she called me "her love" (I had just confessed my feelings to her (they were mutual) and kissed her aboard Ebon Hawk earlier). Were the guys at Bioware just "lazy" or did I encounter some nasty bug, since there was no any indication of my romantic affair with Bastila at the end of the game? It would've been nice to see my character and her together after the victory ceremony.
Edit:
By the way, am I the only one who would like to see more stories from this specific era in Star Wars? Even material based on the game, perhaps?

That would require an additional ending. One that isn't that different from the one you got.Oberleutnant wrote:Anyway, my light side game left me wondering one little thing: In my game, it seems that Bastila fell in love with my character just as I had hoped, and before I went to meet Malak on Star Forge, she called me "her love" (I had just confessed my feelings to her (they were mutual) and kissed her aboard Ebon Hawk earlier). I doubt the programmers wanted to take that much trouble to slightly change the ending for every single possibility.

you were warned
I loved playing through on the dark side and when you confront the Dark Bastilla and she joins you in your darkness, Juhani and Bindo try to stop you. I love killing those fuckers. I especially love going back and talking Zalbaar into killing Mission. I only wish you could kill Carth before he escapes. Dark side is alot easier than the lightside in so many ways...

Oh, I'm not complaining or anything! Just wanted to make sure that the "lack" of romantic ending cutscene in my game wasn't a bug.neoolong wrote:That would require an additional ending. One that isn't that different from the one you got.

That way you can pretty much make up anything.

Of course, it'd be better if she professed her love to your female character.
