Don't worry, even as a Banite worshiper, my character wouldn't exactly be open about it. To be honest, the Tormite might be the only one my character can decently get along with, seeing as we'd at least share half an alignment, and my character wouldn't believe in unnecessary cruelty (Necessary cruelty on the other hand....).

EDIT: No evil PC's? Awwww...... Guess it's the old fallback point then. Lawful Neutral w/ evil tendancies. ^^;

The Harper wouldn't necessarily have been, since I wasn't going to be a Zhent, but I do see your point. Lawful Neutral it is. Though that does rule out Assassin. Damn.

EDIT: Damn cross-posting. Yes, I know they hate each other, that's why I brought it up. But if he didn't *know* I worshiped Bane, and I wasn't an impulsive idiot trying to get myself killed, no problems.

What the fuck are you talking about? Torm is Lawful Good and Sune is trying to get him in the sack!

Bane has an extensive enemies list, yes I know. If we rattled them all off you'd spend the better part of an hour and name well over half the Faerunian pantheon. I mean, Cyric, Torm, Tymora... The list just goes on.

Obviously I'm further behind in my FR canon than I thought. I know Bane's back, but not much of his activities since then. He was an enemy of the old pre-avatar Mystra, but I wasn't aware of the feud being revived with the new one. I was under the impression Bane was still regrouping his followers and eliminating the vestiges of Cyric from the Black Network.

*Chuckle* Don't worry about it. You'd be in the same position if I used a homebrew world. You don't need to know all the ins and outs of the politics of the Faerunian pantheons to get along as an adventurer on the good old Material Plane.

By the by, point of interest. I run my games with multiple material planes. If you're really interested in plane shifting you could just wind up in Greyhawk.

Bane wants the whole cookie jar (well duh! that's obvious) and due to the massive incompetency of the forces of evil during his absence and Fzoul's coup, he has regained forces rapidly. A rookie goodess who is good and in charge of a portfolio as important as magic is far too tempting of a target for a god as power hungry as Bane (who has a fair number of mages in his clergy).

Yep. Bane being one of the alpha males among the evil gods has his own bunch of semi allies and toadies. Gods as powerful as Talos and Shar have to dealt with differently than with the weaker ones. If he gets access to the Shadow Weave, he gains power. He wants the whole cookie jar and he intends to get it. Unlike Cyric, he's been at this game a long time and has a lot of moves and strategims. Cozing up to Shar is just another move on the chestboard.
