Research hyperspace studies, fusion utilization, and then the Jump Drives tech area should eventually open up. Don't bother researching it past level one, though.

Are we waiting for Tobor to get back and post his vote before we proceed with the RP?

Who knows, Dalton's writing his RP and after that I'm hitting the sack.

FYI everybody, I will be gifting the Hurr planets to the Shadows. That doesn't mean there are a million shadow troops occupying the Shadow worlds. There's no such thing as a Shadow transponder signature or a Shadow takeover of the Hurr. The RP will connect the dots.

I'm suggesting we create a mini-game somehow, conditions to free the Hurr from Shadow influence. I'll think of it more tomorrow but basically it'll consist of giving whoever wants to join in 5 goals. The goals will be something like "bring a baseship here" "build x fighters and launch them here" "send 10 ships to here" or something like that. At least that's my suggestion. More details when I'm not so tired.

<edit>The final goal would obviously be a rumble with Shadow ships but in a limited way, maybe a set tonnage you bring 20000 tons of ships to a location and the Shadows bring 10000 tons of ships to a location and if you lose, well you'll have to start over with a new set of 5 goals.</edit>

<edit 3>Ok I thought of it lol.
1. Send a fast courier to (x,y)

2. Send a light cruiser to (x,y)

3. Send a battleship to (x,y)

4. Send a planet killer to (x,y)

5. Send a fleet of ships worth 20000 kT in total to (x,y) and defeat the Shadow fleet there.

You can write the RP however you want, the secret goals being investigations of your government into Shadow activity, chasing them down. That is if Guppy agrees. The locations would probaby be chosen x squares away from your home systems.

Anybody who wants to join in PM me. I guess the reward would be control of the Hurr system, if Guppy agrees.
</edit 3>

I guess it's only right that we let Tobor cast his vote. I think I'd be annoyed if I was just left out, especially if the game was paused as it is now anyway.

How do you plan on making this thing with the Shadows work when they're being controlled by an AI and won't follow our rules.

Indeed. And thus far I do not know if that is a good thing or not.

Guppy told me he was unwilling to return until I (and presumably Tobor, since he is guilty of the exact same transgression I am) apologised, even when Tobor and I asked him to. He said that he would not until the reason for him leaving had changed. I would ask why he is returning now.

Let's list some reasons:

1) I gave up on the apology. It's obviously never coming. That's okay, I'm so over it.
2) I've invested months into this game already.
3) Now nobody can call into question my posting in the RP thread.
4) I really like SEIV!!!!

I can feel the love.

EDIT: I'd love to be able to claim it's some big scheme, it's not, I just wanted to get back in.

I could have conquered the galaxy five times over, first when I had 150 DD's, then 126 LC's, then 126 LC's and 126 DD's, then 100 BB's, and I could make a good try for it now with 150 BX's (though now it's nearly impossible with everybody running around with 500 ship starfleets). And earlier even before anybody had any ships and I discovered boarding parties, I could have conquered the galaxy with 150 escorts designed to board when nobody had advanced armor.

Especially you Uraniun you would be my natural first target :P.

So no. Besides, by now I would lose, all you skanks plagarized and made a zillion shipyards :D.

G'Kar read it, put it down, then erased his entire speech.
So did you spend half an hour writing the RP and clicked preview or submit only for the damn BBS to log you off and lose all your work :P That's happened a couple times to me.

Um, Tobor? WTF?

As an aside, Tobor is colour blind. When he says 'vorlon in green' he means yellow :P

Not that that helps me terribly understand what the hell is going on.

240/200, it's the 20% advanced storage techniques that'll kill 40 million people, not some Corporate genocide campaign, just so you know.

"The Centauri Republic will purchase the entire fleet for 1.6 million minerals. Just send us the paperwork and we'll sign it."
I bet you're feeling gipped for agreeing to 3 million minerals for 200 obsolete ships now G'kar . Though those 200 ships could probably beat the 20 just on sheer weight of numbers, and of course you ended up paying only about 1 million. Actually 3 million minerals was not bad, the total cost of the fleet was around there anyway since I ended up gifting you DD's and LC's.

Those ships could fetch a far higher asking price. You could have gone as high as five million Tux :P.

Next time I'll set it up as an auction. There will be more where those 20 came from. For a few of the races I see, it's a pretty smart move to buy Black Sabbaths. Some of them could double the strength of their navies with 20 of them. The only disadvantage to the Black Sabbath class is, of course, the pitiful multiplex tracking (2), but ECM research is expensive, and the best ECM doesn't seem to make a shit bit of difference in getting hit from what I've seen, so it's not worth it just to get better multiplex.

Well if the Brakiri hadn't been so isolationist all the time they would have noticed the Raiders doing this from turn five :P. At one point I had a Centauri, Vorlon, Minbari, Narn, Hurr, and Yolu ship captured and I was gonna parade them around as trophies or create a little zoo. But then people got iffy about the huge turn file size (there were 30 combats a turn based on their mothballed ships, I gifted their ships back to them mothballed ) so I had to abandon the idea. Plus I thought boarding ships were pretty cheap--Raiders get tier 0 boarding parties no research needed.

Yeah, well I spent most of this game taking five-minute turns and then clicking end turn without bothering to review what I'd done, so sue me for missing something. ;)
