That reminds me; Since the Imperium's tech has degraded, are old power suits better than new ones? Would a pre-Heresy set be better than a 'modern' one?

IIRC, power armour (at least the Space Marine variety) has been one of the few things that has gotten better with time (probably because the Adeptus Astartes don't really give a crap what the Mechanicus think, as long as it works).

They sometimes do. But they are Space Marines first, and the indoctrination they get as Marines makes the stuff the AdMech do just look silly.

Pater is about the closest you can get to a Puritan out of this lot, although he doesn't mind the Kroot. He's also got a bit of a fixation on technology which Prius might object to.

Well. It's a bit more complex than that.

For a start, he's madly anti chaos. He could give Tyrus a run for his money on that one. He's also not above laying the beatdown upon necrons, tyranids and krork, and their like.

He's pretty close to the Emperor's apparent views on the matter really... As long as they're prepared to swear fealty to Humanity, they can live. (Note the lack of any campaigns of xenocide in the Great Crusade.) If they actively try to take the galaxy (by rights the soverign domain of the Emperor) from 'us' then they need a damn good spanking for their trouble.

you can have the galaxy just leave our gaint planetships, the web/warp to us....

I always thought Rogue Trader was set pre heresy since you have Beast man units and the Guard was called the Army.
