Look, this is a fantasy game. I don't care if the projectiles from your guns are propelled by tiny rubber bands spinning propellors, so long as they remain within the agreed tech limit for the STGOD.

I have nothing wrong with Tycho using his magic to destroy an Aquarian outpost or barracks or something.

Taking out the foritified center of the occupation, on the other hand?

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

Yeah, the mages can't destroy a city like that with just three or four of them. You want the Goddamned apocalypse down there? I'll give it to you if the mods somehow let you get away with that. You had the capability to do that to cities already; its called orbital bombardment. You had it just like the rest of us. Now that you're fleet's destroyed don't go whining about not having the capability anymore because its your own damn fault you lost it.

It was my mistake, and it's been changed. The debate is moot.

So, because of a mistake that existed game-wise for about 1 minute, you're gonna turn into an utter asshole?

No. Because the insurgents used the equivalent of several tons of Sentex to level my ally's command post, I'm going to use whatever means necessary to secure the area and rescue survivors.

Congratulations, Thirdfain. I realized what you were trying to do when you first started fomenting rebellion, but didn't think it'd be quite so spectacular. Enjoy the system; I know you're looking to seize it.

Huh?

I am certain that action so brash would almost certainly result in the targetting of my Empire by unpleasant forces. I would never do anything so... overt.

And don't roll yer eyes at me!

Uh huh. You stirred up and armed rebels in a deliberate attempt to make the situation untenable for us and expect us to believe that you did this just for shits and giggles?

Look. This is an STGOD. The goal is to make your power expand while making it as hard as possible for the other powers to do the same. I was merely ensuring that things didn't go too smoothly.

Believe whatever you'd like.

GODDAMIT, Tycho!

In the time you built SIX 6-mile long battleships, I , probably the most prolific power in terms of production at this point, built only 4 CRUISERS!

They will now be treated as being about as powerful as one would expect an oversized multipurpose abortion of a craft rushed through construction over only a couple of weeks to be. Which is to say, a trio of Ouster frigates will be able to take them in a fair fight

Tycho, how is this for an idea? Dont say that your cap ship is built yet. Let that sit on the back-burner for a while now. You want a good fleet? Now that the Rh'illorans have found a home, move people off those hundreds of personnel carriers that you have and retool them into militray ships. Cheaper, easier, and faster.

I say this because on one hand I sympathize with your smaller military fleet as seen in your OOB, but am horribly against a cap ship building over the course of 2 RT days. If you converted the civvie vessels over, your fleet would be the same size as any of ours. Then you can start work on that big guy you got cookin now.

Civvie vessels converted over the course of only a few weeks would hardly be a match for purpose-built capital ships which take months to complete.

This is 'on the back burner', so to speak. The fleet will be completed in around 5 months or so. Next time I'll be more clear.
I'll edit the post to specify the build time.

Jeebus tycho, it'll take me at least 4 months to build a fleet that can hold a candle to ONE of those ships.

Except that quick build ships are considered weaker, at least to a degree.
