Target Wii Launch Inventory Locator (US Only)

This came from Penny Arcade, and originally from IGN:

http://wickedsick.org/wii_finder/

Basically, enter in something like your city or zip code, and it'll tell you how many Wii units your local Target stores will receive for launch.

For example, the two Target stores in town will have 33 and 51 units.

Keep in mind that this is US-only, that there are a handful of Target locations that aren't listed, and that the information still hasn't been 100% verified, though from general consensus it seems reasonable.

It said to use your area code less of course you live in a remote place. :P

The local store will be getting 120 units... Hmm, considering Best Buy pisses my family and myself off, Circuit City seems to be a dump, and I think I can forget about getting it from EBGames, maybe I'll ask my bro to buy from them.

Either it's broken, or there's simply no Target stores in my area. So it's generally useless. :P

Gave me nothing in my area either, even though there is definately a Target in my area.

Did you try typing in city name? I found that helped.

I may have to go to Dorchester...64... or Somerville, which is closer, and hope they don't run out of the 24 they're getting.

Yeah, entering my zip code didn't work for me because my town is actually divided up into multiple codes, so I used the city name.

Hrmm, now it seems to be working. Odd. Not that it really does me much good considering I don't shop at Target. Nice to have a general idea how many units are going to be available in my city though.

Hey wait a sec. Who cares? Surely you should just get a pre-order. Or do US stores only take x pre-orders, to keep some stock on shelves at launch day?

City, State, Zip Code, everything. Got nothing out of it.

You cannot preorder at Target. I asked them this past Saturday.

I wish I knew. Some are saying US stores take X preorders to keep some on shelf on launch day, while some say all of them are sold by pre-order.

For all I know, Toys R Us was the only retailer that offered actual preorders for the Wii, and they offered only ten-fifteen on just last Sunday.

Only ten-fifteen? That seals it. They have more in stock. IIRC, they had 400 Gamecubes in stock on launch day.

Am I missing something? What does that have to do with the topic? Also, where did you hear that?

Did you try the initials for your state? :P

Yeah, it seems each TRU might have about 200 Wiis for launch, according to reports. Other retailers might have between ~25-50. There's a pretty good chance that you'll be able to walk in a store on launch day and buy one.
Dominus Atheos wrote:The fuck do you mean no Wii games will be region free? Bullshit... :x
Yeah, that was initially announced by NOA as a mistake, because the issue wasn't crystal clear between company branches at the time.

how much are the Wiis going for?

That number still seems too low. There are supposed to be 4 million Wii's on Launch Day, right? IIRC, (and correct me if I'm wrong,) there were less than a million Gamecubes on launch day.

Edit: Nevermind. 4 Million Worldwide. That makes more sense.

There are two EB Games in my area, plus a Bestbuy and a CompUSA. I will be at one of these at about 5:30 AM on launch day.

I would complain about the stupid frakking North Dakota law preventing stores from being open before noon on Sunday, but I guess it will let me sleep in launch day.
