Buy now or wait?

So, I've been checking out hardware for a new build early next year. I want to go with a Conroe e6600 CPU and lo and behold, on Newegg until tomorrow the e6600 ships with a free copy of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, A game I wasn't planning on buying, however, I have always liked the Ghost Recon series so I would probably play it and enjoy.
So, Is it worth it, or are future price drops (say, between now and February next year, and don't forget Black Friday) going to = a new 'free' game of my choice rather than one I would probably like but wasn't planning on buying?

I'd recommend waiting until at least Black Friday. It's only a few weeks away and there's bound to be a decent number of price drops then.

Well, you'll have to evaluate how much the game is worth to you, but I personally don't see that as being a significant fraction of the purchase price of a new processor. If it were me, I would wait for a couple of months to see what happens, particularly since high-end computer parts don't seem to be selling well, at the moment, and the 6600 is a pretty serious chip.

By early next year, you can probably pick the game up for $20 anyway, so no, I wouldn't do that.

thats what I figured, but I'd heard *things* about GRAW and I wanted to make sure it wasn't something I should absolutely own.

Am I the only one here w/ an E6400 instead of a E6600?
(not that it matters of course).

Um... yeah. You are. The rest of us don't want a crippled processor.

I've been considering it too, but you should know:
Get it from
zipzoomfly
The processor is a few cents cheaper there AND they don't charge shipping for the game.
Personally, I've decided to wait until February when DX10 cards and Quad core CPUs hopefully drive prices down a bit
