Myspace comments non-functional

My computer really is breeding problems. On top of the consistent graphics-related probaby-overheating-caused crashing problem, and the shiny new HDD crashing problem, I have lost my ability to comment on myspace. I've ignored it for months for its annoying me now, and naturally messages to tech support are met with auto-responses (always the same whether or not my message includes threats to the recipients mother :? ).
Basically, when I open the comment page the comment box is empty (no cursor), and I can't enter anything into it through typing, pasting, whatever, its like its not there. I figured the issue was cookies related, although it did just happen one day for no apparent reason and has been that way ever since, during which time I've changed my firewall, which has made no difference, and erased my cookies and history, to no avail.

I'm using IE 7, so I guess I can re-install that or install 6. I'm not sure how to disable javascript though. As far as other browsers are concerned, I use Firefox, but cookies work even less well with it, and myspace not at all, so as a last resort I suppose I could download another one. I'll report back on any effect.
