Screenshot Software

Essentially, I'm doing a project for uni, and would like to have a slide show with still images from a film, to illustrate what I'm talking about. I have a DVD player in my computer, but thus far efforts to take screenshots in Media Player have been fruitless (even with overlays disabled). Does anyone know of any good, free software that will allow me to take an image off my computer screen and into a slide show?

Actually I think you can take screenshots in WMP with Ctrl-I...

You can't take a screenshot of video like that.

Get this, the pros use it.

Thanks for the assist, but it only seems to work on movies already on my computer, as opposed to on a DVD drive. Am I missing something? Should I also find software to rip it to my computer then take screencaps?

PowerDVD is the way to go.

Fraps may be what you're looking for.

Media Player Classic will work. File -> Save Image.

You can simply use the Print Screen button when you have a video running in WMP. You just need to disable the "Use Overlay" in Tools > Option > Performance Tab > Advanced > Video Acceleration and DVD video.
