[Mount and Blade] The Last Days

Now that I've actually been able to get into the great war of the third age, tLD is ruling the kasbah.
For the masses, tLD is LOTR-based, but Tolkien rather than Jackson. There is no rigid plate anywhere, for instance. It's for an older version of M&B, so there's no skeleton scaling (everyone is man sized, from olog-hai to goblins).
However, it has an awesome 'war' feel to it. I've just completed another patrol down to Pelargir, and my squad has gone from 'uruk' to 'corsair'. Those bloody Gondorian bloody Master bloody Yeoman and their machinegun archery killed most of my uruks in a few convoy raids, but I later destroyed a prisoner train moving some corsair troops and used them instead. Since I've been made aware of it, I'm now subsisting entirely by eating prisoners.
My current goal is to weaken Pelargir while working with the Haradrim, to try to destroy the southern Gondor spawn.
I had a MRDOD level awesome battle: my uruks (on foot, of course) with some Harad light cav against a Gondor warhost. I charged into their cavalry in a river, dismounting and killing most of them, but their masses of strong, heavily armoured, huge-shielded infantry bogged down my force in the middle of the river. My general waded across the river desperately fighting half a dozen Gondor infantry while my archers shot them in the back one by one. The bloody Gondor archers were doing their usual deadly work, so I flanked them behind a hill and charged into bastard range. I lost my shield to more than a dozen arrows, then had to face almost a dozen archers with nothing but a two-hander and some javelins.
Needless to say, it was awesome watching my uruks break through the gondor infantry in the river and come up behind the archers, slaughtering them while I hid behind trees and the like.
