Hey, I was wondering is there a handy page somewhere out there with tips how to unlock all the factions in MTW2, or change the timescale of turns etc. Sort of a handbook for editing basic variables (and which INI's to edit).

Go to Total War Centre forums, there's a million threads about it- but all you need to know is go to your game folder, data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt

(to edit descr_strat.txt turn off read-only in properties)

you'll see everything there. Change the timescale from 2.00 to 0.50 if you want a proper, Rome-type timescale. Get rid of show date as turns if you want to see what date it is on the turn counter instead of the turn number. cut and paste the unlockable factions to the playable list. It's very simple.
