Anyone having trouble playing Klingon Academy on XP?

I keep getting a D3D error initialising 640x480. How can I get around this?

I know I played it before on XP some time ago but now it doesn't seem to want to play.Ubiquitous wrote:KA is very unstable with XP. I believe I posted a similar thread a month ago or so. You will be very lucky if you can play it, and even if you do get a game it will probably crash at most inappropriate times.
I am doing that but it doesn't recognise my video card. It is a Geforce 7200 (or is it 7300?). Bah whatever is one step below the 7600. It just says primary display driver and doesn't show any screen resolutions to choose even after I click on detect available resolutions.Nyrat Odle wrote:I found that the only way to get Klingon academy to run for any length of time on XP was to have the video settings at maximum. Not set up from inside the game but by going through the setup button on the auto run screen that pops up.
I ran it with and without compatibility mode. Still no dice. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled the game and tried to run it without the patch and I am getting other errors.Uraniun235 wrote:Are you running it in compatibility mode?
Scrap that. Release 80 apparently doesn't support my card and therefore won't install. So back to vers. 90.Enigma wrote:where can I get the forceware release 80 for my nvidia vid card? Apparently, it seems that rolling back from 90 to 80 solves the problem.
