Anyone else find the campaigns wicked hard?

They do get pretty difficult, yeah.

Which set? Shadow of Death, Armageddon's Blade, or Restoration of Erathia? RoE wasn't terribly difficult, but SoD was a killer. Of course, by the end, Sandro had at least 60 in all four primary skills .

Yep, they're pretty difficult pretty fast, unless you have Gelu -

Not a darn thing can stand up to 3 100-unit stacks of rangers (essentially level 2 troops) :)

Edit: It's a pity that he's not available as a standard hero in the random maps.

You can (if you have the PC version) edit any map to include whatever Heroes you want. Actually, wait, you also need the Armaggedon's Blade expansion pack to get Gelu. By rangers, do you mean Sharpshooters?

Yeah - Sharpshooters. It's been a while. Additionally, I have the Complete Edition, so my understanding of the separation among the three is not as good as someone who bought all three separately. While you can edit any map to get any hero, are you able to get Hero heroes on random maps (may only be available with Armageddon's Blade)?

Unfortunately, no. You can only set Hero/artifact/spell availability on existing maps. I also have the Complete Edition, I just know the distinction from editing certain maps. In fact, of all the video/computer games I've owned, I thing Heroes 3 is the one I've played vastly more than any other. Do you know if you can e-mail map files?

I'd imagine so - since they're saved as separate and distinct files on the system. Even if the email server won't accept the file extension for some reason, just compress it and send.

All right, thanks. The idea was, if you want, I have some truly excellent maps made. OK, actually, I have two. If you (or anyone else, for that matter) would like some, LMK.

I have all of them, and its aggravating as all fuck. My current primary hero has 30 in attack, which I thot was pretty impressive, but I guess not.

Im working my way through my current revelation of when they say '4 heroes go to next level, and max level is X' they mean that as a requirement. For a while, I was only keeping a prime hero and no others. . . so I had 3 level 1s on the last map.

They're pretty easy if you know what to do and where important things are. Now MP(hotseat) against human players is another thing, much harder.

Yeah, the only reason I was able to get that high was time. I would complete all my objectives, except one, and then (if there was no time limit) go around the whole map and get all the Treasure Chests, Star Axises, Mercenary Camps, etc., etc. As soon as I finished that, I'd go complete whatever my last objective was.
