The Board Game

Reading the rules now. Sounds a bit like Risk with terrorists, but more fun.

Check that. Settlers of Catan with terrorists. Resource generation (money from oil) is the exact same mechanic except you do not get to see the resource number of a territory before you develop it. Warfare is all done via cards with dice rolls to determine the outcome. Territories can become nuclear wastelands. Every so often a spinner labels an empire player as 'evil.' They then get additional access to the terrorist deck and must wear the included balaclava of evil. Eliminated (or voluntarily turned) empires go terrorist with all their players acting as one side. Empires can fund and use terrorists as well, though terrorist tokens are generic and anyone can use them. So if you pay for them, they could potentially be used against you. There are also provisions for sending secret messages between players. Certain cards lets you intercept other people's secret messages, and I suppose one could also sell them to the highest bidder.

I've got the game, it's not that badly done, and for such a small company the presentation is nice. All pieces come in ziplock bags. I wish some other companies would take note......preparing War of the Ring, Doom:THe Boardgame, Axis and Allies or Attack is a nightmare. :D

BTW, if you want to read some other opinions on it, check out here...

Cool. I was not doubting that it was fun, though after getting the Stargate SG-1 board game, I very well could be wary of games from small companies. Too many other things ahead of it to buy first though.
