Help with Rome Total War mods

I'm desperate for an all-factions mod. Must...play...as...Thracians. Unfortunately, my last attempt led to all the factions being displayed as choices on the Imperial Campaign screen, but none actually being playable. When I clicked on their icons, even those included in the vanilla game, I couldn't play them. Luckily, I had a save file for the Germans, and could still play that game. I decided to consult with the more knowledgeable before attempting what could amount to an even greater fuck-up.
So make with the links, bitches.

Take this then, bitch -
linky
Or you might get some more info from
this thread
The only faction that you can't play with that mode is the Senate, cause that was never meant to be played with and crashes the game if you actually try it.

It worked for me like three weeks ago, when I last downloaded that patch ... it seems that website has a problem at the moment.
I've uploaded the archive on my server,

Is there a specific place I need to save it to?

The excellently made Rome:Total Realism mod allows for Thracians. And it doesn't suck, or crash your game.

I'll download that mod once vanilla begins to bore me. As I understand it, you can't play the original version once you've download RTR.

That is correct. I thought the realism mod was better anyway! More balanced, saner factions, etc. But make sure to catch up with it when you're done playing the vanilla version.

It's a self extracting patch ... just point it to your installation folder, although it can find it on itself, IIRC.

I've saved it to C:/Rome, but it doesn't seem to work. Nor does it work when I save it to D:/Rome, where other mods have told me to extract them to.
PS. I'd previously installed Barbarian Invasion. Is that going to fuck anything up?
PPS. When I initially installed the game, my computer kept freezing when it asked me to insert the 3rd or 4th disc, so I eventually got frustrated and copied all the data to my computer, and ran the installation from there. At least, that's what the technologically savvy person told me he did. I don't know if that affects anything.

I have no idea why you do experience those effects. I have put it over a fresh installed game (the original, not the add-on).

I'll have to get some of my technologically proficient friends to help me with this. Thanks anyways.

Install the mods to your base Rome directory, where the .exe of it is, unless told otherwise.

Rome: Total Realism (and some other mods) require patch 1.2. BI installs patch 1.3. You'll have to download and install patch 1.2 for some to work. Check the mod's readme, it should tell you what version it needs. RTW does allow down-patching, so you won't have to do any special extraction, other than running the patch's .exe.

No, it shouldn't affect anything.
EDIT: And I just read your last post. Whoops. Sorry.
