What Happened to 360/PC Wireless Controller?

Ages ago (like, when the 360 came out) I remember brief stories all over the place about a USB dongle that allowed wireless connection of up to 4 360 controllers to PC. Now, since I've been converted to the awesomeness of the 360 controller, I obviously want one of these fandangoes... but the whole idea seems to have vanished. Does anyone know if it was ever released, if it got cancelled, etc?

I remember seeing it advertised in one of those little 'upcoming release' booklet things they give away at EB about a week ago so I guess it's still on. Don't know when it's supposed to come out though.

This is the closest thing to what you're looking for. It's not available until sometime in 2007 though.

Ummm... they made a specific controller for PC? That's lame.

Hilariously, buying a pair of 360 controllers for PC use would've nudged me toward buying their console. I wonder if there were practical problems, or if it's really just a lameass marketing decision?

I think that 90% of Microsoft's problems could be attributed to lameass marketing decisions, Stark (such as the decision to not let you run non-Microsoft signed themes in XP, or the entire Zune, for that matter). Everything else is just Steve Ballmer being a dick.

At least it's also compatible with the 360.

Btw, I've heard it doesn't come with any configuration software and it'll only run on Windows XP (probably Vista as well).

You mean this?

Works with the controllers and the wireless steering wheel, as I understand.

Yeah, that's the thing. Did it ever come out?

Pretty sure I've seen it around and there's a few results on Froogle, but I have no idea about down under.
