File types fucking hijacked by Winamp.

Ok, why the hell is it when I try to edit the wav filetype from 'Winamp Media file' to 'WAV file', ALL OTHER THINGS LABELED 'WINAMP MEDIA FILE' GET CHANGED TO 'WAV' WHETHER THEY'RE MPEGS, ASFS, OR WTF EVER!? When I edit the MPEG file entry to read 'MPEG file' instead of getting lumped under 'Winamp Media File' together with everything that isn't an MP3 or Quicktime; the WAV FILES ALSO GET CALLED 'MPEG FILES'!
I need help unfucking this shit. I want my WAVs, MPEGs, etc. to come up in their own groups instead of being randomly mashed together.

Uninstall Winamp, reboot, then reinstall and unclick file associations when it asks for them. Make sure you do a custom install instead of a full one.

Oh ick. Isn't there a more elegant, less brute-force solution?

Point now mooted: Winamp has been replaced by Foobar2000. Problem solved itself.

Actually, what Zod suggests is pretty easy.
And what the fuck is Foobar 2000?

A very good audio player.
Make sure to install something else for videos if you were using winamp for that purpose.

CCCP is a codec pack with video players included.

I know what the CCCP is, just that the post implied that the CCCP made Foobar play video.

I got that he was saying he uses CCCP already so he didn't need to install anything else.

It didn't help I was high as a kite when I posted that.
