A carefully-selected screenshot of a 'game' consisting of a handful of tracks and ten cars, yes. You can ogle the pretty little car all you want as you do the same time trial lap over and over and over again.

Seriously, what's the big deal here? Throw enough polygons and lighting effects at a model and it'll look lifelike - we already knew this was going to happen. Sure, it's pretty, but it's not like this came out of thin air.

Certainly looks shinier than GT4.

It may look pretty, but call me when they do a Burnout game with that quality of graphics.

Like Bounty said...so it's shiny.

Literally GT4 was demonstrating what a little extra power would do, so here's the PS3 version of GT4.

And really they screwed the pooch on the hype the first way, and now? We'll just give you small nibblets that wouldn't satisfy a five year old, and then have you wait as we dole out the game piecemeal.

The big deal is that all these effects are being done real time, probebly at 60FPS.

It's still bloody shiny, despite being expected?

One thing GT4 taught me is that a game can be extremely photogenic for screenshots and vids, and yet look completely unspectacular in actual gameplay. I remember booting up the game and seeing the in-engine intro and salivating, then when I got into the game I was like "what the hell is this pixellated mess in front of me?" Anyway, those graphics look pretty nice, but so do PGR3's, and I'm not convinced that these look any better than that game. In terms of gameplay, the GT series needs to make a lot of improvements in order to take the crown back from Forza, which is getting a sequel soon.
