When I use cover flow for browsing my music, I can't simply sort things by album. Album always becomes 'album by year' or 'album by artist'. This makes cover flow browsing an unsightly mess by causing it to display multiple covers for every album.

If there is any way to make cover flow sort by plain 'album', I would like to know.

Right click the sort bar at the top of the library listing, you get a long list of possible sort options. Untick the ones you don't want it to display, tick the ones you do.

The by-year and by-artist things are supposed to appear on multiple clicks of the same item; you should be able to cycle through to just 'album'.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately it's still doing the same thing. Getting multiple covers per album because it is also sorting by artist. That's even though I don't an artist column enabled.

Yeah, clicking on 'album' should cycle between album, album by artist, album by year. That's how it's supposed to work, and it's how it works to me. I've got an artist column: the columns you have should have no effect on your sorting behaviour. To get the up/down behaviour you have to click the triangle.

If your install isn't behaving properly, update or reinstall.
