Anybody play this?

A sixty meg download, got it up and running in half an hour. Played a couple missions of the tutorial, then went online. Accessible multiplayer, you log in and play right away, plenty of people in the lobby. Was pretty fun. I'm on EST and available after 9:30 PM if you want to play.

And of course it kicks ass, because it's free. And it's turn based, like all real strategy games.

It is indeed a stunningly awesome game. A friend of mine got me addicted a year ago or so and I've played off and on since.

Not to say that I'm actually any good at it, but damn if it isn't fun to play. Dwarf handgunners are the best. They don't work half the time, but it's tremendously satisfying to watch the enemy health go down all in one go when they do manage to hit.

I tried to play this some time ago, but the balance, art and solo mission design is mid-90s at best. I actually prefer playing 'Fantasty General', and that game is rubbish.

A multiplayer turn-based tile, die-rolling game just chills me to the bone. ;)

Well the king of these kind of games is obviously Age of Wonders, but this is like "fantasy lite." You just need to know a little Sun Tzu to win (defense is entirely based on terrain), and pay attention to the damage types, rock paper sissors like Starcraft. Definitely not a "keeper" kind of game, but might last a couple weeks.

Just like every 90s wargame. Thanks for the 'lesson', professor, but this game struck me as tired because I played it a decade ago. The draw is mutli, and multi + turn based makes me sad.

SE:V is turn based :P.

I haven't played enough of this to go into it. But are you talking about Age of Wonders? The classic age of wonders I was more than just a wargame. It had inventory, and heroes. And what's wrong with 90's wargames. I liked Panzer General and those kinds of games :).

STOP SAYING AGE OF WONDERS. :(

The game struck me as too similar to the x General games. There's nothing wrong with that, but it didn't seem to bring anything new to the table aside from an active multi community, which doesn't interest me.

You're right it's nothing new.

Don't worry Stark I'll join you in Nightfall soon. Just need to get my sleeping habits fucking set straight.
