Excellent, excellent French documentary about the shoot-em-up, beginning pre-scroll with Space Invaders, continuing with Xevious, evolving through Gradius and R-Type, reaching a pinnacle with Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga, and ending in the modern day. Each game gets a nice long look, and they have several interviews with developers, players and enthusiasts.
