Nvidia problem

Post by Tolya »

The new card runs quite fine, but I have some problems with the drivers.

1) On normal Forceware drivers, when I maximize a window with a white background I get a small greenish tint. It disappears when I change the active window or minimize it.

2) Omega drivers dont want to install for some reason. They install the software, but the driver does not want to kick in

3) Small video stutter when running video files (like mpeg's).

I changed from Ati Radeon 9800PRO to GeForce 7600GS. Is there some kind of old driver clean that I need to do?

Download Driver Cleaner and give it a run. The latest version you have to pay for, but you can still find the earlier freeware versions on Google. First, uninstall your Nvidia driver and reboot. Then run Driver Cleaner, and nuke anything that says Nvidia or Ati (assuming your not using an Nforce motherboard - if you are, you're going to be careful about which Nvidia entries you delete). After you've done that, you can reinstall your driver.
