Hey, is there any kind of a browser IRC client, one that can be run from a website, without a need to install any software, since I dont have the admin rights where I currently work and asking someone to let me install mIRC would be asking for a kick in the butt.

If you can get in trouble for using irc at work, then why are you asking about it here?

I wont get in trouble, but since its a big company (biggest information TV station in Poland) I do not intend on gathering negative points with media managers by going to them and saying "Hey, I could use mIRC".
Its like this: no one will tell me not to do it if my main work is done properly, but no one will install mirc for me either.

Ah. If you can use a USB flash drive, you can install mIRC onto the flash drive and run it while at work. I've done that before with library computers and it works more or less perfectly, provided your ports aren't locked down.

Darn, I think ports are locked up.

Have you even tried using irc on it? If you try running it on the flash key and it connects, then your ports aren't locked.

The java clients are a bit of a different beast. You can pick up a cheap Flashdrive from any store which should do the trick though. One that can run mIRC shouldn't cost more than $30 USD.

Nope, wont budge on any server. I think ports are locked firewall-wise. Although I would be surprised if they werent, this is a huge system.

Like I said though, the java clients are a bit of a different beast. I've never personally had much luck using them on a library computer, where a lot of stuff is locked down, but I've been able to run mIRC off a flash drive without any trouble. Anyway, just an idea.
