Anyone else have this expansion pack? I picked it up yesterday and got a chance to play for about an hour. The added content is about the half the size of the entire TQ game, or about 10-15 hours of new stuff.
From what little I played (with an existing character), I found it to be quite enjoyable, richly detailed, and, since I'm playing about 10 levels below what my character's at, ridiculously easy. I need some serious seat time to give more detailed impressions, so hopefully I'll be able to add in the coming days.

I just picked up Titan Quest Gold, I missed the initial release. Looks like the new additions are super valuable, glad I won't be playing through the early zones without them.

Tell me all you can about Iron Throne.

I'm playing through it from the beginning right now. I really like the Caravan and the ability to remove/preserve relic/charms.
I have a level 7 Templar(Defense/Dream), well future templar, right now if anyone wants to play the online functionality.

I don't like the fact that it all takes place in the underworld. The endless dreariness wears on you after a while. But it's nice to see some of the new items, and the new artifacts, although it's hard to assemble all of the reagents. I've managed to successfully assemble one artifact so far. The higher-level artifacts are brutal to assemble, because they require completed lower-level artifacts as ingredients.
The caravan is nice, but it really should have been in the initial release. I always duplicated that functionality with TQVault anyway.

Sounds like this is a worthy addition to the game. I'll put it on my to-get list.

One thing I was hoping for in this was that you'd get to go north, to Scythia or even further to mythical Hyperborea. Or something like that.

Nope, you go to the underworld and you stay there for the duration of the game, because Hades has gone insane and you have to stop him.
The most interesting thing about the expansion isn't the expansion mission, which I quite frankly didn't like, but all of the enhancements and the new Dream mastery, which can be used in the old missions if you want.

I was hoping the expansion would give us a chance to go up north, just so this game would remind me even more of Age of Mythology.
And I hate the fact that the cover art for TQ has your hero face down a Hydra, and there ain't no bloody Hydras in the game. False advertising!
How is the new Dream Mastery?

Correction: just after you find the Spartans who are guarding a huge Limos, kill it and then go into the swamps on Legendary difficulty. One of your side quests is to find some Spartans who went on a scouting mission and got lost. When you find those Spartans, go east. In the middle of the swamp, you'll find the Hydra. And he's a real son of a bitch too. But you won't see him on Normal difficulty.
How is the new Dream Mastery?
Pretty cool. One of the new powers is a force wave that is available on the first Dream mastery level and which is powerful enough to send boars flying with an area effect.

I'm more of a fan of the Phantom Strike skill which lets you become undetectible as you close into your target, smack multiple targets(3-6) with high damage (171-350+) Sapping Energy from them(95-405) and stunning them(1.5-3.5 seconds), and the Lucid Dream which Passively buffs my Phantom strike, ups my Off/Def rating 18%, and ups total speed by 12% and chance to dodge 15%.

Anyone else notice an insane difficulty increase in the Neantheral Boss? I didn't even flinch when I went through him with my Earth/Spirt Rapestick character on Vanilla TQ, but my Templar got utterly raped by him. I was smashing him up like I had all the other bosses to this point and then his Ice Avalanch spell kills me instantly, so I go back and he pulls it on me at full health and I die instantly(this is at 2200 health). So I change my equipment and get a quick 54% resist to ice and return. While this allows me to survive this spell long enough(about 1.5 seconds) to drop a potion or move out of its range, I am now surviving long enough to encounter his stunning shout which stuns me for 3 whole seconds in which he usually avalanches me to death. Took several attempts at hit and running him(Phantom Strike could give me second and half of stun on him to deal out some damage) and I got lucky that the one time he stunned me he didn't call on his kill button.
Meanwhile, my Templar(Defend/Dream) utterly kicks ass. While still using Egyptian equpiment(I just spied a shield with 10% and 100 damage higher block rate) I have a 38% chance to block 114 damage, I have 13%+9% chance to dodge attack from equpiment(I'm not sure how they stack) I have a ring that boosts Life leech damage and duration, I do about 170 damage per hit and 230 per second, 10% chance to stun for 2 seconds. With my life leech plus attack damage coverted to health I end up selling more potions than I use, and can tank most bosses with the occasional potion drop.

That's not so bad. The old legendary final telkine is actually tougher than Typhon. He can deal out more than 4000 damage in one hit with his deathray, and those little spawn-demons of his can do real damage too. Of course, I have no idea how difficult the legendary bosses are in IT.

I missed out on Titan Quest because it crashed on my old PC, like so many other games (stupid 6600GT + VIA motherboard). I might pick up the gold edition, but dammit I have so many games to play:
- Armed Assault (my brother got it, so I can wait till he's done);
- STALKER (my brother got it, but I cracked it to play without the DVD- damn crash issues make playing it a bit of a pain);
- SW Empire at War and Forces of Corruption (I got it cheap at Christmas, have yet to play in earnest);
- Il-2 1946 (I got it cheap at Christmas, the campaign is long and I've been sidetracked);
- Medieval 2 (by default it will always be on my list);
- Oblivion (replaying that, gonna play Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles is either out or is coming out very very soon);
- Supreme Commander (multiplayer only - either with Alyeska, my brother, other friends, or anyone else who wants to have a go?)
- C&C3- coming out next week
The list goes on. How the hell am I supposed to fit in anything else?!

Oh wow. I just lucked on to this thread. I didn't even realize these types of games were discussed. I'm just now trying the original Titan Quest. It looks really cool so far. I'm slightly under it's specs though, because it recommends a minimum of 1.8 Ghz, but prefers up to 3 Ghz. I'm bidding on a chip that will increase me 1.1 to 2.2.
My other specs are pretty good, so maybe that;s helping. 1 Gig memory, Radeon 9600 video card . Will these expansions need even higher then my 2.2 Ghz upgrade? It's as high as my motherboard will allow.

Accually I think the changed some coding that makes the game run a lot smoother. I usually have iTunes running in the background when I play a game and with Vanilla TQ it would take about 30sec for iTunes to respond to commands from my keyboard(I have media controls on my keyboard to stop, pause, play etc), but after upgrading to Immortal Throne it responds instantly.

Well I beat Typhon for my first time the other day. Then continued to subsequently run him approximately 10 times before fully moving on to the new act.
At level 34 Typhon was no problem once I got his patterns down. Apparently in previous versions you could destroy the statues to remove some of his powers, but that has been removed. While I died a few times against him my first time, subsequent runs usually only had me dying against his Life Syphon attack. Up until the point(and even though some of the mobs hit fairly hard in Act IV, up to about 1/4 the way through the new act) he has been the only enemy that forced me to buy potions. Generally I was able to beat him in just two phases with my templar. First was to grab the Mastery Shrine, enter collosus mode and rally then phantom strike him and hack away, by the time the shrine wore off half his life would be gone, and I'd let Rally/Phantom strike recharge and then grab the Battle maker shrine and finish him off.
So far the new Act is nice, though the new items are over embellished the new quests are nice. They add new elements(protect an NPC, having to find unmentioned items to aquirre riches, easier to pass up if your just steam rolling through)
I'm starting to get Greater Artifacts and most of their components I haven't even heard of much less gotten close to making. Also so far the best drops I've gotten have been in the King Dorus side quest. In his tomb I had about 5 epics drop, All of them lvl20+ and one of them that replaced my previous epic sword, and another that almost replaced my rare shield were it not for a 7% decrease in blocking.
Overall I still find the game to be methadone to Diablo's Heroin, but not by as much of a gap as I considered it before. I still think Diablo had a much more polished feel to it, while Titan's Quest was much more ambitious and has several elements that are superior to Diablo, but lacks the polish that makes Diablo II such a fantastic game.[/i]

The ultimate armour against Typhon is the Tartarus set. Each piece gives a 10% bonus against Titans, so if you have the whole set (helmet, breastplate, bracers, greaves), you get a 40% bonus against Titans. It's also the coolest-looking kit in the whole game by a long shot. But you need to have a fairly high-level character to wear it, because it requires something on the order of 500 strength. Fucking cool as hell though, with shitloads of bonuses. If you want the set, I can compress a character with it, E-mail it to you, and then you can use TQVault to transfer his equipment to your character.
I also have the Alexander set, but the Tartarus set is cooler. Especially if you have some of the really good rings and amulets, like Apollo's Will and the Pendant of Immortal Rage.

I've only played the original TQ. Back then Champions ruled supreme with their army of summoned monsters.

Well I just completed Act IV. Much better boss fights overall(two stages, use their surrondings a bit more, etc.) but Hades was a PUSSY. He had a range attack that killed me(3500 life) in one go, no drain just all of it gone, but once I got into range my Health Regen was almost enough to counter his damage melee damage. His second form however had some attacks that could put the hurt on me but was two slow to keep me from retreating long enough to drop a potion or two and rejoin the fray.
Drops were amazing lame how ever, even on the second run, I'm going to go through Epic a bit before I come back and try to get the Otherworldly key, which opens a gate near the start of the act where some super mobiles are suppose to room.
Also I just got my first Legendary off a Satyr, Crystaline Greeves. Christ the power gap from Epic is legendary is huge. My previous (Imperial Greeves) were lvl 26 and had 96 armor, these Legendary Greeves are lvl 35 and have 390 armor rating.

Could anyone PM me an install code for the original Titan Quest? I've managed to round up all my old disks, but can't find the box insert thing with all those magical numbers. ><
Wouldn't need to reinstall it at all, but my old computer died a few months back.

Does anyone here have the mod for the first Titan Quest? Version 1.30?
I want to be able to put relics or charms in the blue and purple pieces. I know it exists, but I can't seem to find the right spot online to download it. Would really appreciate it if someone could email it to me.
If so, my email is +justforfun000ca at yahoo.ca
