That's awesome. PS3, supercomputer, revolutionary... and one of the two releases is SINGSTAR.

PS3: $600
Singstar: $50
The pleasure of knowing I bought a Wii instead: Priceless.
Damned if this isn't so sad it's fucking hilarious.

Um, the official site lists FEAR and Rainbow Six in April, and doesn't go beyond that. VGCharts seems to be misinformed.
So thats 4 at least.

I'm pretty sure these are just their 1st party titles. And I'm also sure it's still pretty pathetic.

Compared to what? Nintendo who's big games are "they'll be done when they're done" or MS who's console has been out for over a year? What other console is doing better for 1st party games?

God of War II is already out, so that information is either severely dated, or just plain wrong.

Oh, well, in that case...that's not too bad.
Microsoft only has two first party game releases in that time period, as well (Forza Motorsport 2 and Too Human). Unless you count the two XBox Live Arcade games.
Nintendo also has pretty few releases in that time period; Mario Party 8, Super Paper Mario, Pokemon Battle Revolution, and Big Brain Academy.

Then how come there's third party titles on their PSP and PS2 release list?

Are there any estimates of what "critical mass" consoles today have to sell in order to survive? I've heard the big song-and-dance about how you need to make hardware sales to get games to get more sales and so on, but how many consoles do you actually need to get out there in order to get things to work?
@Xis:
So, Sony is having trouble allocating more than 130,000 or so PS3's per MONTH to North America? 'Cause, I thought they still had a shortage going on, here.

Supposedly, this "shortage" will end in May. However, I forecast the
real shortage, that of demand, to continue as long as $599 does.

It amazes me to see the DS on top, and I've been cheering for it the whole time.
The PS2 seems to finally begin the steady decline known as "Being last gen", but I believe as long as the PS3 continues to slump, it will be slower than the fall of say, the Xbox. Then again, Kratos-hurled griffons fall slower than the Xbox did.

You know you're in trouble when your old product outsells your new, backward compatible one by more than twice as much.

I just got mine today as a late birthday present! Picked up NSMB, and got two worlds in, but I made the fatal error of taking my gf to EB with me. As a result, I now also have Nintendogs: Dalmatian, and haven't seen my DSL for hours now.

When's her birthday?
Give her a DS of her own, in a color she likes.
Or just do it for the hell of it, when you get the spare cash. If she questions your motive, tell her the truth: You did it to get
your DS back (hold out your hand for added humor).
