Thinkpad problems

Occasionally my T22 will boot up detecting half the amount of RAM installed - I did drop it 4 feet off a table and had it flying through a car once, but logically if the RAM/solder connections were loose, it would crash in the middle of usage, but it doesn't- it only fails to detect one of the RAM chips intermittently on bootup..... any ideas?

This may sound simplistic, but have you thought about taking the RAM chips out and reinserting them? You might also consider testing the RAM on another laptop. I had to install RAM on my ThinkPad X41T when it first arrived, and this was before I knew that much about the inner workings of computers, and it scarred the bijeezits out of me, but I, and my RAM, managed to survive.

Already tried it
. RAM doesn't seem bad or anything (machine doesn't crash while it's on), it's just intermittent detection on boot.
