Does anyone know how to type in the letters on the cell phone?

I've got Saints Row and haven't used the phone for a while, but if I remember correctly you just use the appropriate number. For example, if number 1 has ABC on it and you need to use one of the letters, just put in the number once. IE if you need A, press 1, if you need B just press one once, not twice, etc.
