Ok, I have a few questions for those of you have have Track IRs and/or know more about them than I do.

The current model, Track IR 4 PRO is about $180. I have been thinking about getting one, but the price is in the 'inconveniently high though not immediately dismissed out of hand' range. There is an IR 2 on eBay starting at $20. My primary purpose for one is IL2 Sturmovik 1946.

Thus I wonder if there are any compatibility issues with the the IR 2 and XP and/or IL2, or if I would be giving up anything particularly crucial in getting the 2 over the 4. I am guessing the 2 only has 3 DOF, but IL2 does not support all 6 at the moment anyway, so that is not a concern for me.

Also, now that someone else is bidding on it, I was wondering how far I should pursue it.

The problem with getting the TrackIR2 is that driver support has ceased for them a while back. I don't think it'd work straight off the bat with 1946, although don't quote me on that one. The currently supported ones are the 3 and the 4, and they're the only ones to my knowlege getting updates.

I'd go and hit the Naturalpoint forums and ask specifically if the TrackIR2 software has a profile for 1946.
