A Brawl of Biblical proportions

adultswim has come through again with this amusing flash arcade fighter, Bible Fight. Choose from Eve, Noah, Moses, Mary, Satan and Jesus as you rumble your way to the top of the mythical heap for Biblical supremacy.

I can't seem to get past the first level, but I've only tried using Satan and Noah so far.

I'm using Eve and scratching peoples' eyes out, I'm up to Lvl 3.

Damn: Satan's a bitch... I've only beaten him once...

I've beaten the game with Satan, his attack power is low but his range is ungodly (I beat every character in the game with a perfect record on my first try by merely alternating between spear attacks into a corner and the occasional tail-whip against dodgers).

God is surprisingly easy, the toughest characters are probably the females followed by Jesus.

Satan is Eve's Stage 4... and he's a bitch to beat, normally I claw at my opponent, but this bastard blocks me every time.

I like Satan for the most part, but I have difficulty executing any of the characters special moves, his included.

Bah, Jesus keeps defeating my spam attacks.

Ahh.. so that's where it was posted! I thought it was belonging to G&C. :)

I managed to get to Jehowah and beat him. Satan is the best AI opponent, but he's also the hardest to play as a character since his special move (a very powerful attack, probably more powerful than that of the other characters) is really, really hard to execute.

God sucks and the only thing that redeems him is the ability to transform into Satan.

Moses' stone tablets, because they're double and have a fairly large interval of time between them, are a spam weapon which can kill even the strongest foe. :)

It probably should be in G&C, considering, it is, you know, a game. *punt*

Playing with Eve against Satan, I found the best strategy to be the apple throw since its faster than all of his attacks and its unblockable.
Against anyone else, snake whip was better

Satan's super-combo is overkill  No one stands a chance - you can't block it, you can hardly dodge and Satan doesn't take damage even from super-combos when in Cerberus form

I found Moses to be the easiest character to play. He has great range with his stick and, even better, can swat the jumpers out of the sky with it. Combined with a bit of tablet spam, he can take down anyone easily.

Fun little game, although I have to agree that the controls are unresponsive - all the complex moves (Moses' burning bush, Jesus' cross smash for instance) are more luck based then skill in whether or not they're recognized.

Moses 10 Commandments spam is so cool..

I wish someone made a Bible FPS with playable characters. Hell, that'd be downright awesome.

I don't understand why Christians don't take their perfect chance at a propaganda. I mean, come one, "Left Behind"? That fucking sucks. Now, if they gave me a good Bible-based FPS or RPG with playable celestials, I'd take and grab that. :)

Well, there were some serious games (FPS even!) with warped Bible stories at their base (Requiem: Avenging Angel, Messiah come to mind), but there are no tongue-in-cheek games such as this one, at least no mainstream ones as far as I know.

Bleh.

And how cool would it be to play a "Great Prophet of God" RPG where you get skills like "10 Plagues" and other shit... I'd even play that in a modern world setting  Imagine - "you have chosen the following abilities: Turn Waters to Blood, Rain of Fire and Brimstone, Global Flood"

Christian games are universally awful. Presumably for the same reasons that 'Christian rock' is; a) being 'devout' is more important than being good, b) fundie nuts will buy it (or buy it for their kids) no matter how crap it is, c) decent developers refuse to work on such crap assignments and d) the medium is somewhat inherently inimical to the message.
