This is a twist on what usually happens with my internet access. Right now, the wireless internet is working fine; I'm actually posting this from my laptop connected to my home network. But for some reason, the internet on the main computer, to which the router is connected, just suddenly stopped working. Any ideas?

I'm assuming you've tested the obvious possibilities (connect laptop to router on the same port as desktop, replace cable, connect computer to known working port with known working cable, etc.)?

Because wired dying on a router while wireless is still working sounds almost impossible to be a software problem (on the router anyway).
