In short the police cannot do a search in your home for D/L files, cannot get information from the ISP who connects from witch TCP/IP adress and so on.
Not that I use my 100Mbit/s fibre for filesharing but if I did I would have nothing to fear.
Especially if I knew how to encrypt drives, clean out misc crap from the registry and so on.
