Live version of the music of the first three games.
the 4th is good: gameplay adapted for the DS but the chara design is not as cool as the first ones.

I've been trying to play Justice for All, but I gave up halfway the second case. It's got entertaining dialogue and a very charismatic style, I'll grant it that, but the story is just too convoluted and nonsensical for me to care. And once you lose interest in the plot, there really isn't a game there to keep you interested.

I found JFA entertaining, but yeah, it was convoluted as all heck. Especially the final case. (Which was fun at first, but quickly got lame... Too much stalling.)

And a major issue with the game is there's only one right way to advance. Which can get annoying at a couple points, since one would think presenting evidence A before B would be the course, but infact B is all that needs to be presented...

Profiles really didn't seem to add much to the game. (And I actually haven't played Ace Attourny...)

You have to remember that JFA was originally made for the GBA, with only minimal upgrades made to it when it was ported to the DS, unlike the original, which was given a number of upgrades so as to try and convince Japanese people to buy it again. 3 is the same. 4 will be the first built from the ground up for the DS.

The profiles can be useful, but they seem to be underused most of the time. (Such as pointing out who is the likely suspect for what, or questioning a witness about who it is they saw). My only real complaint with the games is that at times there's no immediately logical means of solving a case. Other than that the storylines are excellent.

It's not so much that as that JFA simply isn't written as well. The first game would still have been better without case 5, the new DS exclusive case.

The problem is especially evident in JFA Case 4, because everything you do is mechanical stalling for time there's no sense of satisfaction at having solved the case, and in any other case Edgeworth would have been asll over your petty objections and shut you down in seconds. It feels laboured even for the Phoenix Wright court, which is seemingly predicated on such dramatic shenanigans. Apparently, GS3 is better again.
