Staright from an ex-interplay employee, what we were all thinking:
"You know what? You Know Nothing. Shut Up."

Oh that was brilliant. What more can I say?

There are actually people on NMA that complain about the Vault Dweller's suit not being skin tight.

I know. They also complain about:-
1. The Brotherhood of Steel shouldn't be on the East Coast because Fallout establishes that they'll remain in the Lost Hills bunker in perpetuity;
2. Whatever explanation for what the BoS is doing on the East Coast is going to suck anyway because of Bethesda's "track record."
3. The Nuclear Catapult Is Not Fallout.
4. The quest in Megaton is going to suck because there's not enough choices, and clearly this means the whole game is going to suck and there's going to be no choice, because the quest in Megaton is obviously the best quest in the entire game.
5. Having a plot where you have to locate your father is lame and Star Wars and it's pigeon-holing the character (how this is any different from Fallout and Fallout 2
both requiring you to leave the Vault/Village to find McGuffins is unknown)
6. The weapon weilded by the SuperMutant in one screenshot is too shiny.
7. Liam Neeson as your father sucks because it's a waste of money.
There's also a rule with Fallout crybabies:
A. If the news about the game is
good, Bethesda is lying.
B. If the news about the game is
bad, Bethesda is telling the truth.

I wish I could find the quote from one of Interplay's head dudes dissing on the Fallout fan assholes.
It's basically a paragraph long sentence that is one of the ultimate flames ever said.

The bit about the suit was my favorite complaint, but I am going to have to weigh it up against the Liam Neeson thing. Complaining that something sucks because it has A-list actors in it is really out there.

I was extremely gratified to see that the suit isn't skintight. Not only would that create some annoyances of it's own, but the new suit is great looking. Perhaps there's a jumpsuit under it, and this is just from the vault 101 Gift Shop, but I love it no matter what the reason. I was extremely skeptical about the treatment before, but hoping Bethesda would make a fun enough game out of it, but it keeps looking like the best kind of reimagining you could ask for. Taking the fallout series and making even the most fallouty parts more fallouty.
I'm disappointed at the Supermutant. I always figured them as green and lumpy. I didn't like the big orange alien dude look we saw in Fallout Tactics. But I can take a few things I dislike within a heap of those that I do. I'm sure some clever fellow out there will release a Supermutant Reskin patch like day two.
I'm sure it'll be fine. I just was looking for more of a Marcus look than the FOT one.

This one?

Really, I know this may be hard to believe, but if you like playing a turn-based game set in three counties of Utah in 2242, and you like miniguns but don't like lasers, and you like the ratio of combat to dialogue to be about 4:1, and you like cars that look more like Buicks than Pontiacs, and you think 50s-style monsters are okay but 50s-style aliens aren't, and you think Max's jacket from Mad Max is okay but the football pad armour isn't, and you don't like it when italics are used in dialogue but you do like it when boldface is used, and you want it to be longer than 100 hours but no longer than 120 hours, and like games to be non-linear but only to a point, and like big cities, but only two because four is too much BUT HEY NOT THAT ONE, and you like the desert but don't mind a little grass BUT HEY NOT THAT MUCH BECAUSE IT'S NOT FALLOUT...I am terribly, terribly sorry, because we are not going to make a game just for you. We're not trying to make a game for everyone. Really, we aren't. But we're not making a game just for you and ten other angry guys with tastes that are narrower than a hallway in a camp of pygmy dwarves.

It's a pretty time-proof indictment of the Rabid Fallout Cultists, eh? It also shows them up for total liars where they whine and piss and moan about how Bethesda owns the licence so now the game's going to suck and they wish Black Isle and Interplay was still doing it - these dipshits were gnashing their teeth and wailing in the exact same way even when Black Isle was doing Fallout 3.
Like the Gamespy guys said- these obsessives would be perfectly happy for it to be 1998
forever. I'd be really interested to know if this level of fanatcisim was particular to the Fallout franhise. Is it because they reused the same engine in Fallout 2? I dunno.

Well, Fallout 2 isn't even canon according to some of those idiots.

In related news, it's been confirmed that Fallout Tactics didn't happen as far as Bethesda is concerned. Which is good, it really didn't fit the universe (what with it's many gasoline-powered automobiles and Hummers and Sherman tanks ...)
Oh, neither did BoS. As if that needed to be said

Is there no love for FOT? Am I the only one who sees your beauty, treasures it, nurtures it?
(well aside from that horrific bug in the engine in how it calculates burst fire and other cone effects but that's neither here nor there)
I still love you, FOT.

I thought it was fun (at the same time, I never finished it) but it really just didn't fit very well.

I think it's because they think they're the only ones to recognize Fallout's brilliance, and due to that fact they're exceptional judges of good games and have great taste. Therefore they think they should be listened to in any and all things Fallout, because they kept the franchise alive, and know good stuff when they see it.
To that I have to say bullshit. They might have played Wasteland and bought the game at full price, but that doesn't make them any smarter. It only makes them a little better than the lowest common denominator which wouldn't like X-Com or Jagged Alliance or any kind of squad based games at all. It's nothing to brag about when you're smarter than Halo fanboys.

Someone on NMA just whined about the fucking font on the one dialogue screen we've seen. Oh God, I feel faint.
For some reason I keep heading over to Bethesda's Fallout forums. I don't know why, but I must be punishing myself for some forgotten sin. It's a dozen pretentious sneering sniveling morons clacking their teeth and poisoning the well for everyone.
I'll be sooo glad when this game sells like hotcakes. Hell, I'll be pleased as soon as Beth's advanced hype machine gets into gear and everyone but these losers will be praising it.
EDIT: In addition to constant whining about drinking water from subway toilets (no explanation as to why this is a bad thing in a post-apocalyptic setting), a 'perk thing' allowing you to eat corpses (which is fucking awesome, yet complained about for no reason whatsoever), and the Fat Man (again totally kicking rad, but whined about for no reason whatsoever).

When I orginally listened to the podcast-thing and they said that Fallout 'fans' should "get some horrible disease and die" I thought they were being a little excessive.
But I'm a big enough man to admit when I've been wrong. Die in a fire, Fallout fans. Die in a fire.

Actually, it's a 403 error.
The 404 is just a bonus.
