I started this mod when I was in high school, the better part of a decade ago. After we released a multi-player version and single-player demo, I stepped down as project coordinator due to having other responsibilities. The team I left behind faithfully soldiered on. And now, it's done. On National Bungie Day, 7/7/07, Marathon: Resurrection, the complete re-make of Bungie's 1994 classic Marathon, was released.
To play, you'll have to dig out your old copy of Unreal Tournament (no bloody 2003, no bloody 2004, just Unreal Tournament). If any of your Halo fans are wondering where Halo came from, you should give Marathon: Resurrection a try.
Please enjoy.

Durandal, I never, ever, ever thought I'd say this, but ... I love you.

And now I realize the reason I decided not to throw out my UT disks and keep them.
Everything is falling into place...

I don't think I own Unreal Tournament. If I do, they're probably old pirate discs lying around somewhere.

Just FYI for anyone who wasn't aware of it, the original Marathon games have been released (for a while now) into an open-source environment called Aleph One. So you can go back and play Marathon and Marathon 2 just like you used to. The open-source also means that there have been a couple of really cool third-party versions out as well (some suck, of course).
Among my favorites is this one:
Rubicon X

All bow down and grovel before the great Durandal.
On a side note, the elevator finally reached the top floor, so now I can fully understand you avatar.

Durandal, I have to ask- have you ever played the Half-Life mod "Someplace Else"?

The best, without any question, is
Marathon: EVIL. Scared the ever-living shit out of me when I first played it.

My only exposure to Half-Life has been Counterstrike, I'm afraid.
