GTA:SA cut scene skipping

Ok here is my computer stats,

Athlon AM2 64 X2 4600+
2x 1GB 667MHz RAM
NX8500GT 256MB
300GB HDD (the game installed in this one)
250GB HDD

Everytime a cutscene appears, the first half gets skipped over and it goes directly to the second half. How do I fix this?

EDIT: Is there a GTA:SA forum? I can't seem to find one.

Are you running XP or Vista? If you're running XP it may just be a disk read error, or some type of corrupted data. I was running SA just fine on my laptop which is a good deal older with XP.

Windows XP Professional. This is the first time playing the game after I upgraded my computer.

The cut scenes worked fine before the upgrade but now it skips the first half.

There may be a driver conflict somewhere, or possibly just corrupt data. Was the game installed before you made the hardware upgrade, or after?

After. But after playing the game for a while I noticed everything is going much faster. The game isn't taking to the upgrade too well. For example, cars suddenly accelerate then stop. Cars constantly crashing into each other. When I enter CJ's home time accelerates quickly.

I am going to reboot and see if that does anything.

I've rebooted the computer and it did seem to work for about five minutes before decending into severe bout of Tourette's Syndrome.

www.gtaforums.com has a San Andreas section. I know they went the rounds on a number of bugs and other tech issues when it came out to PC. You could try looking over there and seeing if it's been brought up before.

Thanks. I went there and found out that SA doesn't function too well with dual core processors and found out that I can disable one of the CPUs. And it worked. :)

Thanks everyone for your help. :)

DAMN DAMN DAMN!

Though disabling one CPU helped slow things down I still get some jerkiness in the game and it is preventing me from advancing. Missions that involve making my car hop or the mission which you have to dance is impossible to do because the arrows jerks at various speeds preventing me from successfully accomplishing the mission. BAHH!!!

Anyone here have a dual core computer and also GTS:SA? Have you had any trouble?

I have an A64 X2 3800+, and I didn't really notice a difference in SA from my old A64 3200+ after the upgrade. I haven't had any of the issues you describe. I don't know if this would have had any effect on it, but I didn't reinstall Windows when I upgraded.

Well I manage to somehow fix it by deleting the gta_sa.set file. It runs a bit slower but it is better than running with both cores and watching cars merge with each other as the game can't deal with the excess speed.
