Me likes, me likes a lot...I hope Bioware makes the story is at least as good as Knights of the Old Republic, and I have a feeling it will.

While I am always happy to see anything Mass Effect related, I must say I actually preferred the original shorter trailer. I felt it had better pacing.

That having been said, November seems so very, very far way. Especially as I've had the game on pre-order since mid-January. Of course, I thought ME was coming out around May back then.

I've set my expectations for Mass Effect a little higher than 'better then KoToR': it could be a Starflight/Starcontrol-style explore-em-up, instead of KoToR's 'planets are different rooms' approach. Here's hoping for another game where if you don't do anything, everyone dies? :)

Meh. If it doesnt' come out for PC, I'll just tune it out.

Likewise. I can't be arsed to muck around with consoles unless the game is something truly spectacular. As fun as I'm sure Mass Effect will be, if they don't port it to PC like they did with the KotORs, I just can't muster the energy to care.

Well, if they do, then there's no problem except the annoyance of consoles getting first dibs.

What Gaius said - for me a console is just not worth the cash, I hate gamepads generally and there's too few exclusive games for me to muster up the money. It doesn't matter if Mass Effect is the greatest RPG since the beginning of time, there's no way I'll get an XBox 360 for it.

Especially since The Force Unleashed is being developed for PC due to enormous demand. 8)

I just saw irony in 'who cares how good it is I only play PCs lol' from Mr MGS4 is Jesus. :)

Since the control system is designed for a controller, I'm not sure why the usual retarded 'zomg controller lololololololz' nonsense is relevant: if anything on PC it'll have one of those retarded keyboard setups you have to customise to use properly. But hey, I figure playing PC/360 games on 360 is generally a good idea, since I can't be assed upgrading my PC (and, for instance, the BioShock recommended specs are completely retarded and I'm quite happy to play it on 360). Ironically, recent cross-platform games (Oblivion, and BioShock is the same) have stupid dumbed-down control schemes on PC, but they work well on a controller. :)

All this is moot if Mass Effect is just another bullshit BioWare join-the-numbers walk-around loot-teh-equipmentzors game. It sounds like they're trying to do something dynamic, which is really all that interests me.

You forget that my brother has already plonked down money for a PS3 (just like he did for an XBox 360, which he sold to a friend months ago) - I can play MGS4 by buying it/ renting it and just using/ borrowing his (the latter for when he moves out).

I know you're not crazy enough to buy a whole console just for one game, it's okay. :) Maybe you just see MGS as the kind of simplistic 8-bit nonsense that is 'console games' and only like more complex things on PC? :D

Kinda. I don't play MGS for the gameplay- I just wanna know what happens. :P

Bah. I hate to play console games since I suck at them in general. The keyboard and mouse at least help me to ease my poor reflexes in general and my idiosyncratic motor functions.

It's great that Lucasarts finally remembers that a good bulk of their fans happen to be PC gamers.

Shit, I was expecting this to be a game about a priest and speaking in latin at Easter or something.

As for the actual game... it looks fun and all, but to be honest, that looked a bit rubbish. I love ragdolls as much as the next guy, but the levels and projectiles looked crappy. I will probably play it if my friends with the consoles get it.

I would buy a 360 just for Mass Effect.

...And Halo 3.

BioWare? Those are the guys based in Edmonton, right? I've meant to sniff them out and find out if they need any extra voice acting talent, but I'm lazier than I'd like to be at times.

Well, guess I'm gonna have to steal a 360 somewhere... :?

To tell you the truth, I don't see a reason to buy a gaming PC today. There's tons of huge titles for the 360 already and almost all the games I care about are either 360 exclusive or will be ported to it.
And ultimately, it's cheaper than maintaining a quality gaming PC...
