Hardware Advice: Quad Q6600 System

I asked for advice for a computer upgrade here a while ago, and it was suggested I wait for the summer price drop. I have followed this sage advice, and would once again ask for some suggested hardware parts.
I've got a 7800GTX card, case, dvd-rw drive and powersupply I would like to re-use. I have £300-£700 ($600 to $1400?) to spend on the remaining crunchy bits that go inside the case. What would you folks recommend?

What is your current processor? Your graphic card could do with an upgrade to say a 8800GTS.

I was hoping to hang on to my 7800GTX and skip the 8 series.

- Q6600, obviously ($340)
I like my Asus P965 board. You might want to go with the P35 one though. P5K Deluxe(or Premium)/Wifi-AP. I'm not sure what the difference between the two boards is. ($240)
2GB/4GB of DDR2-1066 RAM. Which you get depends on what OS you'll be running. Don't get 4GB unless you have a 64-bit OS. ($160+/2GB)
500GB HDD. it's pretty close to the sweet spot in GB/$ ($120)
Vid card should be fine for a little while. Unless you want a new one, in which case I'd go for the 8800GTS. It's likely that you'd want to get the 640MB version. ($380)
Total: $860 - 1400.
Don't think I've left anything out.

That's price in lots of 1000. I don't think he wants 1000 of the chips.
