Finally, a good reason to buy BF2142...

Star Wars: First Strike

When I first saw the trailer for 2142 and saw the battle walkers, my first thought was "I wonder how long it'll be before someone makes a Star Wars mod for it?" It looks badass, too, way better than either of the Battlefront games.
どうして?お前が夜に自身お触れるから。
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil,
but a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow
was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now, the fool
seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku...

What the hell is it with people calling them the Imperial Empire? What kind of name is that? They're the Empire, or the Galactic Empire.

Do the capital ships work like they did in Galactic Conquest (the bf1942 mod)? Or do they just move on pre-scripted paths?

For that matter, how can you have an empire that's not imperial? That's like saying "Wet water".

Is it me or does it look like the walkers have that crappy Halo move-towards-where-you're-aiming control rather than the usual independent turret movement from the BF tanks and walkers?

I shall give it a try.

Well, the separated control mode seems to have a steeper learning curve than the more intuitive one, as I seem to recall reviewers of FarCry complaining about the difficulty of using vehicles.

Have you ever played the any of the BF games? They all have separate controls and are still about the best vehicle controls in a multiplayer game ever, not to mention they are more popular than any multiplayer game that features a prominent use of vehicles. I don't think difficulty is an issue.

Also, i own Farcry, the problem with the vehicles there is they are too "floaty" and the turrent movement is a tad too sensitive and suddent, it's not the fact that you have to control 2 different directions.

It looks fun, but not fun enough to buy BF 2142 for it
