Is there a piece of software, preferably freeware, that allows me to take a number of image files and burn them onto a CD-R as a slide show viewable in a DVD player, with a basic menu system and the ability to select and view separate images?

I know I've used one of these two years ago, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called

For what operating system?

Linux or XP.

I used to fart around looking for those kinds of freeware programs years ago, until I realized that my kids eat far more money than the purchase cost of basic commercial DVD authoring software every couple of days, so I just bought an off-the-shelf package.
