I've just moved into a new place in a new town so inevitably when I am not at work I am bored as fuck. I have a Wii, but it just isn't doing it for me. I would like a PS3 because some of my mates have one and we could play online, but there is no fucking way I am going to pay £425 for a console. So that leaves me with XBox ... is it worth buying? I don't have a HD TV, although I am very interested in playing Oblivion, and also I have heard that GTA4 is going to come out for it.

All opinions welcome. BTW the preowned Premium is £200, which is reasonable with a 1 year warranty I guess.

Go for it. There are already a bunch of fun games for the 360, and this fall we are going be hitting the second wave of really great AAA titles for the system. Halo 3 is already out and you have Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed, and Ace Combat 6 just to name a few. Also, I don't know about your taste, but if you like shooters than the 360 is the place to be

The thing about pre-owned is that you can't get the 3-year extended warranty from Microsoft.

Halo 3 looks absolutely beautiful, and I'm playing it on a TV thats older than I am.

If it's early manufacture he can just towel it and get a new one under the 1-year warranty, and then the replacement should be covered for 3 years (AFAIK).

The more I think about it, the more I want a quality gaming laptop instead. I'm going to wait until pay day early next month and survey my options. In the mean time, any help with good laptop offers in the UK are welcome.
