Google says there are 0 links to the main SW website - WTF?

Post by Darth Wong »

I just checked Google's "webmaster links" tool and it says that there are zero sites linking to www.stardestroyer.net/Empire - as the thread title says, WTF? I know for a fact that there are plenty of sites out there linking to this page, so why the fuck would Google say there are none? Is there someone I can contact to ask about this?

If I try typing link:www.stardestroyer.net/Empire into Google, I get more results, but still, it's only 5, and I know there are far more than that. Is there something going on that I don't know about?

Google probably isn't spidering the sites linking to you?

I can't imagine that none of those sites are being spidered. This whole thing strikes me as very strange, unless the "Sites that are linking to you" tool in Google's webmaster toolset has only recently been added or updated. Interestingly enough, the total number of sites linking to my other site (creationtheory.org) has gone up from 1730 to 2299 since yesterday. Maybe they're rebuilding some kind of index that is required for that particular tool.

I have this same issue with several of my sites, myself. I have no clue as to why, either.

It's possible that Google's algorithm takes into account the last update for a site. The Star Wars site hasn't been updated for at least a couple of years.
